So, my sister finally sent me the pictures that she took when I tried on my dress and I think it's just the wrong style...

I think now that i want a long dress. Why do I have to be so indecisive?

What do you think? I need some unbiased opinions. (The pics are of the unaltered dress...if I decide to keep it, it will be altered to tea length)

Cute dress! I'm wearing a tea length dress so maybe I'm biased. As it is right now, it looks a little too big but that should be taken care of once it's altered. I love it!

Is your wedding being held indoors or outdoors? I ask because this dress is really pretty, looks great on you, and would be perfect for a garden wedding. A long dress might be more suited to an indoor event. But maybe I'm biased because as soon as I saw the first pic I could picture you in a lovely green/floral setting!

It is a very pretty dress and it will look even better once it is shorten and altered to your size. What is it that you are starting not to like about it?

EDIT: I had the same feeling. When I bought my long dress, months later I kept telling myself I should have gotten a short dress. I am an indecisive bride as well. Actually I am a shop-a-holic with buyers remorse :)

    Thanks ladies for the comments!

tess, since you are also wearing a tea length dress, do you ever feel like it's not as wedding-y and too little girly? Maybe those are just my own insecurities...I am sure they are.

million, the ceremony will be outdoors by the water, dinner indoors and after dancing to the band out on the deck overlooking the water. So, it might be good for the setting.

Thanks again for the sweet comments! I really appreciate it. I can't ever decide on anything... It's horrible. I still don't know... Probably got the dress too early!

Roddy, too funny. I feel the same way about having shoppers remorse. I just feel that I might want something a little more "fitting" that shows off my shape and is pretty instead of "cute-sy?" I am sure your long dress is beautiful!

I think it's gorgeous!!!  I'm not wearing a tea length dress, but I bought my first dress based on that same thought process- it was big, poofy, very wedding-y.  In the end, I didn't like it and bought something else.  If you really love this dress, wear it!  It's beautiful and you look great.

I think it's really pretty. Why don't you have this one shortened, then have a long layered added underneath? Then it's *long* and the tiered look is in. Or you could go with tulle for the bottom layer. I do erally love the dress though. It's gorgeous!

Side note: Do you plan on being able to wear shoes ALL night? it looks lovely in the heels but if you switch to "comfy shoes"...well, i just hate that look despite the practicality of it.

Y'all are too sweet on here! Thanks... Making me feel better about the dress. Why, when I talk to my mom and my sis I can't be re-assured, but a board of other brides that I don't know makes me feel better?

starch, I did feel good in it, but my main concern is that it is too "cute" while not being kind of "sexy" and pretty. I want to look hot on my wedding day...not with a low cut dress or anything like that, but maybe something long and glamorous.

It is a very cute dress, but can't really help you on whether you should have done long or short... I am, however, an advocate of long wedding gowns!

I think it's such a beautiful dress! I like EJS4y8's suggestion of having it altered to add another layer if you're worried that a short dress isn't quite what you want... I LOOOOOVE the top part, the flowers and the neckline is just gorgeous! I vote to keep it and make it work, either by rocking the tea-length or adding a layer to the bottom...

BTW, saw your comment that you don't want to look cutesy. Let me assure you YOU DO NOT. This dress is beautifully feminine and THAT is sexy! If it helps, I can tell you for a fact that my FI would love to see a woman in a dress like that Smile

I love it and I think it is so cute.  Lots of us are saying it's "cute" so maybe that will help you make your decision do you want a "cute" dress or a "gorgeous dress" or..... I am not saying that a cute dress can't be called a gorgeous dress.  I probably just made not since but I know a lot of girls and guys that don't want to be called cute by their other half, they want to be called gorgeous or beautiful or handsome.  But the dress looks wonderful on you and I love the top of the dress.

Oooh I love the dress - the top is beautiful...love the detail!  It is your day, and if that is the kind of dress that makes you feel great, then that is the length it should be...nowadays there is not a steadfast right and wrong about what a bride needs to wear...I think that the tea length dress is awesome on you!

I really love it! It's going to look terrific after alterations. I'm a short dress bride too, and yes, sometimes I feel that maybe I should have gone with something more traditional--but I think if I'd done that, I would be sorry I didn't go with my gut feeling!

Oh my god. I LOVE your dress! It is so flattering on you! You look AMAZING in it! I love the detail along the top also. I really hope you keep it, it just wouldn't be the same full-length. The tea length is what makes it!

OMG seriously your dress is beautiful and so modern!! Personally, I think the veil is a little long & considering the style & length of your dress, have you thought about a birdcage? Or just a little bit shorter of a veil would help balance it out, IMHO.

    Regardless its totally awesome! Laughing

I love it love it love it! The design and length are so cute on you. This is exactly the style of dress I wanted at first, but sadly the tea length didn't look so good on me.

That said, it's your dress. If you don't like it, maybe it's not the one. But have no doubt that it looks great on you!

Oh my God, your dress is amazing! I absolutely love it. I'm also a tea-length dress bride, too, and I think I actually like yours a bit more than mine :) haha!

Honestly, I think that every bride always has that little bit of doubt about her dress, regardless of how much she may love it. I think that if you had a longer dress, you'd always be wondering, "Should I have gone with the shorter dress?" I think wedding dresses are all about realizing that you're always going to find something you like better out there, but learning to love what you originally fell in love with because you bought it for a reason!

You look absolutely lovely, and I hope you feel confident about the dress as it gets closer!

Well, I guess I will always have doubt...sminerva, you put it great, since the reason I chose it was that I felt great in it. I didn't even want to look at anymore dresses after that one.

Thanks again to ALL of you gals. I hope you are having a great day! You helped me put one thing to rest that I have been stressing about...at least for now. =)

BusyBecks, you look beautiful in that dress!  It's a very feminine design, not at all too "cutsey" or not "wedding-y" enough though I do understand your concerns as I am on the hunt for a tea length dress myself.  What brand is your dress?  I love it!!

I really love your dress. Especially the bodice. It reminds me of one of the Watters gowns, that was $3k out of my price range. Are you at David's Bridal? If I had seen that there I would have snagged it!

It's very cute and I see what you're saying about it being "too cute". I sort of agree, but it does look great on you. I am not a fan of the style though and prefer a longer gown.

I Love it! It ia cute, but you have such a sweet face and you look so happy in all your pictures. I think you can totally rock it. It's an elegant and sweet short dress. you could leave it un hemmed if your conscerned about the length. I think it's rockin either way!

I'm not a big fan of the dress, but to be fair it's also not something that would normally draw my eye. I like the idea of a short dress, but I think it would look better with flats.

I think the real question is: is your event casual enough for a tea length dress?  if the answer is 'yes', this dress is AWESOME!.  If the answer is 'no', then this dress is still AWESOME, just without the length cut off!
