@MrsKady:  Think carefully about who amongst your friends or family could be friendors. Some people are more than happy to offer their services in lieu of a wedding gift.

Since you have only 100 people you can semi-self cater the wedding without much stress. You could make your own appetizers (a lot of them are make-ahead), or a side, or bake a few goodies for dessert. I see a lot of bees freak out because they want to add one or two extra items but one or two extra foods can cost hundreds of dollars.

@MrsKady:   Oh, that sounds absolutely delicious! I think I’d be terrified to try to self-cater for more than 75 people. Just curious about how you’re handling the logistics. I’d love to self-cater my own wedding (when it finally happens lol) but I’m not sure how to make it run smoothly.

I love your attitude!  You’re going to have a lovely wedding because you’re going about it the right way. Use your resources, ask for help, and have FUN! It doesn’t sound to me like you’re skimping or settling at all. It’s gonna be a blast 🙂

I’m also considering hiring one or two local kids to set out/warm-up food and help keep things kind of organized (replacing trash bags, refilling food trays, and the like), since there’s a local college with a culinary program, but I’m worried about how that would go. It would suck if they didn’t show or showed up with a hangover from a Friday night party or something, but I feel weird asking for references and stuff. Unfortunately I don’t have any cousins or aquaintances I could ask and I feel strange asking guests to help out!
