I’m so sorry about your skin problems!  I really don’t have any advice.  My breakouts aren’t horrible but they are pretty consistant and hard to get rid of.  So annoying!

(hugs) I had that kind of acne my first year of college and it sucked! I think somebody said you can get something injected in them that makes them go away…

I have just made a new discovery … Eveline Charles facial care products (the Equilibre line).

http://www.evelinecharles.com/browse.php?cat_id=4

My mom made me try the Nano silver cleanser, and it is amazing. It is a bar, and you use your hands to make a foam, which you apply to your face and leave on for a few minutes. It is super gentle and has cleared up my face like nothing else. I also use the acne serum on broken-out areas, and the clay mask.

It is awesome!

I think what Myra is talking about is cortisol injections.  But you would have to get an injection every time you had a breakout which might be expensive.

From one acne-bee to another, I feel your pain. Right now my skin iis alright (as alright as it can be for those with acne), but another flare up is likely right around the corner.

With regards to birth control – I just thought I would let you know that many of the new pills available on the market do not cause weight gain, or if they do, it is now more like a pound or two instead of five. We had a sexual health update at the hospital yesterday (which I am completeing this spring – yay!) and this was one of the recent developments in birth control. So if you are concerned about weight gain, talk to you doctor, and perhaps you can find a BC that is right for you. I have changed pills twice, and I am currently taking a brand known as Marvelon, which is supposed to help with skin. I am also looking into starting topical retinoic acid, but I am hesitant to do so as it is very drying, and my acne isn’t the kind that comes with super-oily skin.

You are BEAUTIFUL, no matter what your skin looks like, although I know it can be hard to believe when you have bad skin (boy do I know!). I say treat yourself to a good chick flick and some quality time with FI.

Yep, the nano silver cleanser is part of the beauty line, I bought that and a couple other products from the line, the nano silver cleanser is here:

It is wicked expensive, so I tried the small sized one first, it lasted a couple of weeks, and had made a difference within a week or so.

I feel your pain. I have hormonal acne just on my chin. It was cystic for about a year, but lately it changed and is a little easier to manage. The cysts used to make me cry. I have been using the Clinique 3-step system for about 4 weeks now, and I like it. I doubted that it would help, but I’m noticing that the rest of my skin looks AMAZING and it’s like I’m glowing. My chin is a little better, but not clear yet. My OBGYN just switched me to Yaz, so hopefully that will help too. I talked to my derm about getting cortisone injections as the wedding gets closer.

I wish there was a pill that would work for you…I’ve seen them do wonders for my friends’ skin. I have never gained weight from the pill, but I know it’s different for everyone. I’d always had clear skin and then all of a sudden this happened when I was 25. I hope you can get it under control!

I know!  It’s hard for me to get only one beauty product for that much.  I usually like spending less than that on a set until I know for sure that something works.
