It felt great!!! Born and bred “not a quitter” I have pretty much always had my mother standing over me making me finish everything. I didn’t stop until she said stop.
So in in full time university right now and my brother suggested I also take a tax course so that come January I can work part time (on top of school and practicum) Me being the slight over achiever that I am jumped on it, despite FI suggestion that maybe I shouldn’t worry about making money until I’m done school.
I went to these classes every Monday and Wednesday from 6-9 pm. I can’t lie, the time block sucked the big one. And the teacher was.. Well let’s just say he’s better at preparing taxes then teaching!! I was getting frustrated because it was 6 hours of wasted time a week and I was spending spare time trying to actually figure it out. The teacher would just read assigned readings out loud (again) and then go over assigned questions (that we have the answers to…..)
Last Wednesday, we had a sub, the teacher from the other time block (I couldn’t take it because of a scheduling conflict) an she have us a bunch f stuff our teacher never even gave us and taught like… So much in that one three hours I was blown away.
And now I’m really frustrated because now I know that it’s actually the teacher sucking the bag, not just a crappy curriculum or something. I paid good money for this and it’s been a literal waste of time an money! Needless to say, I’m not that impressed. I intend to I talk to the overseeing company and tell them about my experience and why it is that I’m quitting.
but frustrating story a side, woohoooo extra time!!! It’ll probably all go towards other school but at least I’m getting an education there.
Any other crappy/useless education stories? Do you think if I talk nice enough they’ll reimburse me? If I was dropping out for my own reasons then I wouldnt even suggest it but this was directly related to the lack of quality in what I paid for. I’m a poor broke student as it is!
