LOL.  He combs his fingers through it once in a blue moon for no reason, but other than that, the only reason he touches it is to get it out of the way to reach my neck for a kiss.

@Overjoyed:  I’m natural and my SO loves natural hair, and I love that. He plays in it A LOT which I find so sweet and endearing! He gets really “excited” when he plays with my hair too. He hates when I have “UP” styles like ponytails etc. When my hair was relaxed (about 6 years ago) I was very anti-hair touching, but now I see how silly it is when women don’t let their men stoke their hair.

he likes to brush it off my face when we’re kissing/being intimate. but that’s as far as it goes. usually around the house, idgaf what he does with my hair: he can run up to me and pet my hair like he would a puppy, or try to braid it, or make fun of it because it’s usually in a bun.

when it’s all done and i’m dolled up? all he is allowed to do is compliment it. that’s it.

@Overjoyed:  I like your posts, so I clicked on this topic even though I am not AA. Can I ask why he wouldn’t be allowed to touch your hair?

My FI touches my hair all the time. I find it mildly annoying to have his massive paws in my hair, but I let it go 😛

This is funny cause I’ve always been anti hair touching. I would always give him a funny look when he even attempted to, he knew to slowly back away lol. the only time I’d even consider MAYBE letting him touch it is pre-relaxed state. Which Is usually in the summer when I want to swim. That was a funny documentary.

The relaxer making scenes were pretty eye opening. All of those chemicals. But I’ll still keep my dark&lovely.

I have massive hair, and I occasionally tease the hell out of it to wear it very retro styled. It looks nice and shiny and voluminous, but to touch it is like a rats nest and a fire hazard all mixed together waiting to melt your hand off. Yeah, when I wear that style, he knows no touchy.

It my hair looks like this when I am done, he stays away:

@Overjoyed:  Ah. So he came pre-conditioned to behave, lol. My friend who is AA told me that her hair is really dry so she prefers that no one touches it. I thought maybe that was why.

@Overjoyed:  I didn’t know you were in a LDR! Are you moving out his way after the wedding, or is he coming to you?

Oh! And (tmi) during intimate moments he has touch or tried to grab it 😮 but when you’re in the moment you’re not so much thinking about that until after. So I guess he has gotten away with hair touching when my defenses are down 😡 sneaky
