Something about those colors makes me think of a hotel.  Can you make the green brighter…maybe?  I don’t know.

@lauraashley09:  I definitely like the white background MUCH better. There’s something about the writing starting with “request the pleasure of your company” that feels squished to me. I can see that there are spaces between the words, but they seem tiny particularly where there’s a t and the end of one word and the beginning of the next. Is that just a weird editing thing, or does it look like that in real life too? Can you adjust the spacing between words?

@lauraashley09:  It’s not the color, perhaps, but the combination of the “gold” and “emerald” (I am seeing more tan and dark green).

What if you did something like this instead?

@lauraashley09:  I think what you posted is far more traditional than what I posted!  Funny.  Is this the green you’re thinking about?  The two green leaves that are more to the left…

@lauraashley09:  Well, it looks white on my screen, particularly compared to the weddingbee site color behind it… but that might just be my screen! (Although I will say this- white with emerald writing sounds more appealing to me than blush but maybe I’m just not imagining it right.)

I think it might look better if the words are all horizontal. It seems strange that the names are slanted but everything else is straight. I really like the blush background though!

@lauraashley09:  I would browse invitations you find online, and find a design you like…take a screen shot, and contact a printer.  They can make something similar for you.  I used a place called Sir Speedy’s in Portsmouth, NH (now they’re called Southport or something, here’s the link: http://www.southportprinting.com/) and basically told them what I wanted, and they printed it.  We used an image from the Internet and then they “designed” the font for us.  It was SO much cheaper than anything I found online.

This is the image we used, in case you care: WOW IT’S HUGE SORRY

@lauraashley09:  I actually do like the sound of emerald, gold and blush together but maybe you could mix it up a bit and find an emerald that pops a bit more? I really like they way they’ve used the colours here:
