You log on to weddingbee drunk on your way home from a night out (and get tearful about all the lovely stories you read)
Every daydateevent becomes a potential proposal but only to you. to everyone else its just dinner!
when he says we should put a price limit on Xmas presents this year and your heart sinks that he’s not showing any sign of stepping up.
you start noticing men wearing w rings and you wonder if he made his so wait or if he got nagged? 🙂
you’ve actually forgotten what used to occupy so much of your daydreaming?
when you hear someone else is engaged and its not just jealousy you feel but a massive slap in the face.
I have hot date with my boyfriend tonight and its definitely not proposal time yet but it doesn’t stop me hoping. I must also make sure i don’t have to much Vino and start talking about it!

Very valid points…especially the looking at men with rings!! I noticed recently that I’ve been looking longingly at people’s wedding rings (both men and women) and wonder if they went through this whole waiting B.S.!! I seriously long to reach out to them and be like “Can you please tell me your story??” Just to give me hope or to commiserate or something…none of my friends are waiting or engaged or married so I guess I’m craving advice from people who have actually gone through all this nonsense.

When the dog/pet has his last name, but you don’t

– When your brother who is very anti-wedding starts talking about the wedding.
-When you consider purchasing a right hand ring just so you have something sparkily to cheer you up.

@WaitingweddingBE: Totally agree with ALL of these!
@Mrs.LetsGoPens: Totally agree–I have always wanted my birthstone ring and I got one from him for my b-day. It helped for like 5 minutes but then I still felt the pain of wanting the real thing 🙁
-When you go on a nice dinner date and meet up with friends later and they all are expecting him to have proposed at dinner (even when I was not expecting that)
-When everyone says they look at your ring finger everytime you meet up with them, expecting you to have a ring on it.
-When every time you call your out of town friends they are expecting exciting news
-When every second of every day you are thinking about it and have to get on the Bee to help quell the feelings, lol
-When every holiday, nice date, or significant event makes you think he is going to do it (even if deep down you know he isn’t going to yet)
-When you start thinking about proposing to HIM!

@7mom: On dear god – my cat totally has his last name – arrrggghhhhh

@7mom: LOL. I told BF my cat was keeping my last name unless things were official. The younger cat we got together mysteriously is lacking a last name.
– When any mention of future vacation stirs up thoughts of proposal or marriage
– The word “surprise” is cause for extreme curiosity
– When you glance at him any time there’s a commercial or tv show on featuring a wedding to see what his reaction is
– When a salesperson asks if the two of you are married, you instantly give a small listful sigh
– Your heart sinks every time you walk past a jewelry store together and he doesn’t pause to look
– A non-waiting friend has told you to “chill out,” by which you were flabbergasted

-When you secretly hope someone talks about it so much around the two of you, that you finally lose it and have an emotional break down, complete with ugly cry, right in front of him, just so you can get it all out and let him know how much it hurts.

Oh, and when the words boyfriend and girlfriend cause you to throw up in your mouth a little. lol

Haha I love this thread.
@Wonderwoman217: I had a breakdown a couple days ago, and I was doing so well about not talking about it!!
@7mom: Our cat has his last name!
-You compare waiting to waiting to be able to afford Halo Reach just to try to get him to understand what it feels like! (I surprised you with the game… now it’s your turn buddy, get a move on!!)

When you run into friends you don’t see that often and their eyes immediately go to your left hand, because they’ve been expecting the two of you to be engaged, but don’t want to bring it up.
When his sisters just tell him the date we’ll be getting married, since they’re tired of waiting. (Little do they know, we have a date, I’m just not allowed to tell anyone sans-ring) 🙁

When it drives you insane that everyone at his work asks him about his wife, inquires if we are engaged and tells him it is his turn next time and he just takes it all in stride. “She’s not my wife” is like a punch to the face.

When you hear those annoying engagement ring commercials on the radio and have to immediately change the station out of pissed-offness!
