Stupid automated emails.  I hope that someone else looks through the rejected emails.  Is this a big company?

Wow that sucks. I hope you find a contact person so you can explain your situation. That is so rude!

So annoying. My boyfriend is having similar frustrations with applying to jobs right now. I would call their HR department. Also, why is it for them to decide that you live too far? If you want to commute two hours, so what?

Would the computer system happen to be USAJOBS?  That site is such a PITA!

It’s annoying, but people are looking for any reason to narrow the pool of candidates. If you’re not there now, then that means that they’ll have to accommodate you for interviews – either pay for a flight out, do a phone interview, or let you pay for your own flight (which makes them feel bad if they don’t end up hiring you). It sucks but this happened to me all the time when I was applying for jobs before I moved to NYC, even though I said over and over again that I had a legitimate move-in date and address and would come in for an interview any time.

it’s really frustrating trying to find a job nowadays. i’m in the same boat.

i would call the HR or the hiring manager and tell him/her what you are willing to do..etc so that they could actually have a human read your application.
