Luckily, I have my own private office that I can escape to. I have my main desk in our corporate office, which I share with our accountant, and the owner of the company. We are all like 15 feet apart, so luckily, even if they were to be doing something gross, I wouldn’t have to deal with it.

We are having a problem recently trying to get our staff under control, though. We have 2 or 3 staff members who aren’t bathing, and they smell HORRIBLE. There is one lady who doesn’t smell, but if you go into the bathroom after her, there is a smell of rotten fish. [Seriously. I’m not being mean, here. We actually had to take off the automatic closers on the bathrooms so they can air out after she’s in there…].

That’s disgusting. I work from home at the moment so luckily I don’t really have any gross coworker stories, but it amazes me sometimes just how unaware some people are of themselves. They live in this little bubble all day long and are completely clueless as to just how much they are grossing out every person around them.

My office is really great – clean, quiet, and santiary.  It’s hard for me to imagine that people like that actually exist!

I had someone like that in my office.  When he got sick, he went into the kitchen and COUGHED AND SPIT SNOT INTO THE SINK FOR 10  MINUTES.  He would also constantly snort and burp and sneeze without covering his mouth.  I ended up complaining to management.  Eventually he was moved to another part of the building (unrelated to my complaint).  So I’m not sure if his behavior ever changed.  So disgusting…

I also have someone who constantly cooks putrid smelling fish.  It stinks up the whole office. 😡

Is there not a lunch room? If he refuses to eat his lunch there, why not go there for a break while he has his lunch so you don’t have to be around it? If not, put in some earphones and rub some vics varpor rub under your nose.

JazzyGirl85:  Well, I can get over farting. I mean it’s gross, but sometimes it just slips out. Rotten fish smell isn’t something I can get over. That’s seriously gross. I don’t know how people can’t smell what’s going on down there.

I had a roommate once who was disgusted by the smell of bananas, and freaked out if anyone ate them near her.  So…I don’t think you can get that upset about having a different food preference.  The other stuff, though?  Gross.  I’m sorry!

JazzyGirl85:  Is anyone in your office averse to a room spray? Obviously, that would not go over well with some but if you have a small office, you could combat his stank with your own stank-in-a-can. That stuff is sooooooo overpowering he just may pass out and temporarily stop burping-chomping-nastifying the place up.

JazzyGirl85:  Yeah don’t shove it in your nostrils, but put it under the nose. I do this at work. Sometimes people develop a smell from swelling in their legs and feet. It’s so bad it fogs and lingers down the halls and I can’t deal. If there IS a lunch room and he’s refusing to eat in it, if you really want to make a stink about it (HAR HAARRR) you could talk to management or HR.

Yuck… My supervisor is guilt of some gross behavior, but nothing like that!!!! As for the middle-eastern food that sucks, but I do LOVE me some stinky food & have been guilty of smelling up the office on my lunch break. BUT I do eat it in the kitchen, and spray some air deoderizer afterwards….

Leftover fish or seafood, it’s the worst! I hated it before I was pregnant and now it’s a million times worse!
