Your timeline sounds a lot like mine. I got married at 22 and we are currently ttc. I had baby fever for the entire last year of our engagement & 1st year of marriage. The decision to have them sooner rather than later really came down to timing. I knew the kind of family I wanted (2-4 kids) isn’t compatible with my career goals. So I had to choose which I would do first. In terms of continuity, kids seemed like a good option to start with.

Darling Husband & I are fortunate to be in a stable position which allows us to make that decision; He has a good stable job, we bought a home and we both have the time to commit to our family.

Congratulations on your choice to start trying πŸ™‚ It’s a wonderful step to take with your partner; it was really brought me and my husband closer together.

I’m 23 right now and TTC. We decided to start now because we are both very ready. My husband is 41 so the sooner the better but I see no reason to wait. I don’t have anything I really want to do before having kids. We were trying before we got married but it didn’t happen for us.

I’m 23 right now and pregnant. My husband is 31. We got married September 2012. He has two daughters from his previous marriage they are currently 4 & 6. We didnt want more than 7 or 8 years between our first child and his oldest. We really want his daughters to be involved in their new siblings life. Before the weeding we had decided to wanted to ttc start of 2013. Not to mentbaby the baby fever I had before hand πŸ™‚

well Im 23 (24 at the end of this month) and Darling Husband is 29 and he would ideally like to be a Dad by 30, however we have now been trying for 3 years so Im glad we decided to start earlier than most, as its given us a chance to start treatments.

My Darling Husband and I are both 23, and I’m 14w pregnant. We talked about what we wanted in life, and right now we’re done our current goals (done school, bought a house, good jobs, and we’ve had lots of time to travel together and enjoy each other). We decided that we’d rather have little kids while we’re young, and then when we’re in our 40s and are earning more our kids will be older and independent enough that we can travel again while we’re still young. I have coworkers who waited and will be around 60 when their kids leave home, and while I’m sure it was the right decision for them, we don’t want that for ourselves.

Plus, how can you kill that baby fever when it hits? πŸ˜› If you’re stable and ready, you might as well let that baby fever steam roll you. You know it will anyway.

I’m 22 and although we’re not ttc soon we want to adopt/foster soon. We both want a large family and for health reasons I want them as young as possible to have the most energy to play with them. Health reasons are also what are keeping us from biological birth right now And possibly ever.

I’m almost 20 now, Darling Husband is 30, and we plan on TTC in 3-4 years, so I’ll be 23 or 24. I’ll have my degree by that point, and we will have plenty of savings by then.

I’m 23, was married at 22 and am currently pregnant. My husband is 10 years older than me. Sometimes you just know when the time is right, even if others don’t understand =] do what is right for you.

I’m 22 right now, I’ll be 23 in September of this year.  We’re likely going to wait a year or so until we start TTC so we can get settled and pay off some of our student loan debt.  We want to start TTC pretty young mostly because I have endometriosis and I may not be able to conceive if I wait too long.  Plus, Fiance (who is 26 now) doesn’t want to be an “old dad.”  He’s been ready to have kids for a while now.  He wanted to start TTC before the wedding.

I became pregnant the first time at 16 years old and again at 18 and again at 20. All three times I was in birth control pills and yes, I was taking them correctly.
