Ok for a 3rd time… lol. I picked both of my erings from my ex and my FI and over the course of 2 yars though nothing else about me has changed my style of ring choice has! They are like polar opposites! My 1st ring was 3 stones and a lot of detail with a thick band and a lot of bling 1 ctw my new band is 1 carat solid with a thin band and no detail. Anyone have this happen? Upgrades or encores welcome to share I just thought it was interesting… and sorry my old e ring is so dirty it’s been sitting in a cabinet for a year lol.

Mine look totally different also….
e-ring from 1st marriage was yellow gold, marquise cut diamond with small diamonds on each side. My band was channel set diamonds in yellow gold…
E-ring for the Engagement/ Marriage is white gold- three stone with baguettes on the sides and my sweetie hasn’t shown me the band yet.
I didn’t pick either… guess I just got two different guys!

Fun thread! I hope more people reply.

Couldn’t be more different! first one was a yellow gold double chevron set with a 33 point diamont, somewhat similar to this one
and this one is white gold, pave, with a 3 carat gemstone!

I don’t have my first ering. I sold it after my ex screwed me out of a lot of money from our joint savings account. It was a 1ct Leo Diamond set in plat. (even though he knew how I felt about the diamond trade, he still went against my wishes) My ering right now is a 1.25ct moissanite halo. I love it so much more.

Mine are different. My first was a .5 carat round solitaire in a plain gold setting. This time around, I’ve got a 1.13 carat round solitaire in a cathedral setting with 10 pave diamonds on each side (LOVE).

Well I only have had 1 ering but this is a fun thread so I’ll play anyways! Back in the day I was with a guy who I thought I was going to marry and we talked rings and at that point my absolute dream ring was a .5ct princess cut solitaire on a plain white gold band like this:
fast forward a few years and my dream ring became the novo, except i wanted a more rectangular cushion cut:
and my dear husband knocked it out of the park with my actual engagement ring:
ETA: wb keeps eating my post!

My ring is exactly the same. 😛 FI broke off our engagement last year, but we reconciled back in March. He proposed again last Friday.

@KatyElle – your second ring is AMAZING. Love it.
The only thing that stayed the same was that I love platinum. My first was a .66 marquis with a channel setting. My second was a 1.25 asscher completely pave and with a very heavy looking pave halo. it was also covered in engraving.
My third, and final (third time’s a charm), is a 1.22 hearts on fire round, with a very delicate pave band and halo. it’s much more delicate than my previous rings. i LOVE it!
