My yellow lab, Cooper, is the (second) love of my life and I want so badly to incorporate him into the ceremony somehow. He is our baby and while I LOVE him, Fiance loves him as well but is far more aware (and accepting) of the fact that he is, in fact, a dog. He’s more than that to me!! We’re going to incorporate him into our engagement pics, but I just have this vision of him in a cute collar (or tie…see below) to be there as we become husband and wife. We’re already a family of three…shouldn’t he be there to be apart of it?? And see how great he looks in his formal wear?

So cute! I say go for it, assuming he is mellow enough to chill out during the ceremony. Or maybe you can desginate someone to keep their eye on him. Adorable!

AWW! He’s adorable! I would have loved to have had our dog in our ceremony, but we got married out of state and couldn’t bring him with us (well…he probably would have “talked through the whole ceremony anywho!). I love the idea, especially if the dog is well-behaved enough to sit quietly!!

Gizmo is our wedding. It was a demand. When I went to our first meeting with the location, I was asked, do you have any questions for me? And I said, My dog is going to be in the wedding, and he looked at me and said ummm.. and I stood up and almost walked out. With that being said, I have a dogwalker coming, to bring him a few minutes before, and to take him home after. AND our dog has been through multiple training, and he’s really REALLY calm.

I just got married on Saturday and our Shepherd turned out to be the best part of the wedding! Its really hit or miss with new situations but we were able to get him used to an alternate handler and he was familiar with the location! Even if it goes a little wonky, it will add character to your wedding 😉 Good luck!
Also, FYI -We made a emergency dog bag of toys, bully stick, peanut butter, treats etc so someone could take him and occupy him, should their be a problem. He also wore a black bowtie, but it blended in too much in photos lol

I love the idea of dogs incorporated in the wedding, they’re family members. My sister tell’s she’s making our little dog my flower girl.. let’s see.

@gogogiraffes:That’s how I felt as well!! A non-dog-friendly location woudln’t have flown with me. That’s what I’m thinking we’ll do…designate someone to be in charge of him and then take him home after the ceremony. He is such a sweetheart, and is SO friendly, he is definitely calm enough to keep it together during the cermony, but I’m sure he’d try to say ‘hi’ to as many people as he could!! i have this crazy dream of him and my dad walking me down the aisle (and with that, I officially become a ‘crazy dog lady’…haha I embrace it though!!)

I love the idea!! I was going to incorporate my family dog into our wedding, but she is 14 now (will be 15 by the wedding), so it will probably be too much excitement for the old girl lol.
