I went to the DMV this morning to change my old name on my driver's licence to my new married name. I was filling out the application and it asked when my licence expired and while looking at it I noticed that my DL weight is several, ok a lot of pounds under what I really weigh... by 25 lbs!!!! What the heck? I think the last time I weighed what my licence says is 1983, the year I got married the first time!!!
I've been fortunate and haven't been stopped by the police in years but I wonder what he or she would think after seeing I'm a wee bit over what I think I weigh. The words "Uh yeah, right lady" come to mind.
Without revealing the exact amount on your licence and your weight, how many pounds is it off or is it correct?
Hmm....my PA license doesn't have weight! But my height is 2 inches shorter than what I am...
Thankfully NY state doesn’t require our weight to be listed on our licenses. Honestly, I don’t think I could live in a state that did. It seems absolutely pointless.
I actually set a goal for myself that I wouldn't get a new license with my updated name until my actual weight matched my license weight. It was 18lbs over the correct weight but I hit my goal just before new years eve!! So mine is dead on! hooray
Mine doesnt have weight on it - but it does say i have blonde hair when clearly the picture shows brown. i havent been blonde in probably 5 or 6 years!
Uh mine is quite a bit lower. Like 30-40 pounds lower! Haha. I'm bold! But it's not like I weight 140 and I put 100... I'm very plus sized, so I think when you're heavier, people have a harder time guessing weight. And the lady at the DMV didn't question it.
Haha, I'm 20 lbs heavier than my license said. When I went to get my name changed when I got married, they asked if all that information was still correct, and I said "yup!"
After losing 120 pounds I can say for the first time in 6+ years my drivers license weight is actually correct.
My next goal is for it to be too high, we shall see.
Mines bad....mines 40-45 lbs over my real weight...i have weighed that since i was 15. but my hieght is also 2 inches shorter than i am.
Roe, CaitMarae kate169 I think I need to move to one your states. :)
KLloyd1 ... My date twin!!! Congrats on your weight loss!! That's awesome, 18lbs makes a big difference in how you look and feel.
I should gave done something like that. I mean 25lbs isn't undoable.
My driver's license weight is still listed as my weight when I was seventeen years old. I'd say that I wish I still weighed that, but I need to be about 20 heavier to look like a healthy adult women, and I much prefer that. :)
Mine says about 17lbs less than what i currently weigh. But I just had a baby so I'm not hating myself too much for it.
Aww, I'm kinda disappointed that NYS doesn't require it. I'd love to see the difference since I've lost a bunch of weight. You can tell in the picture though, I'm so PUFFY in my DL photo!
My state doesn't have weight on driver's licenses either!
Now my DL is only under by 5 pounds but it climbed to a 25 pound difference at one point!
It's so funny how different each state is!
MN has eye color, height, and weight (mine is accurate), but not hair color. I think the hair and weight part is sort of dumb because they can change dramatically.
Umm my MD licence was a lie when I was 16, so it was pretty far off at 23 haha. Luckily I just traded it in for a NY license which doesn't list it!
totheislnds Although I've been a redhead for the past 10 years or so, my licence states my natural brown hair color. I changed it to auburn today since I have no plans of ever changing to any other color.
CarolinaCola, swanks4tw As long as they don't question it, go for it!!!
Treejewel19 WOW!!! That's awesome, you lost a whole person. I'm proud of your accomplishment and I'm sure you are too!!
bsbee Hey, if it's not questioned I would leave it.
Yea, my license is about 30 pounds lighter. I never updated that part from when I first got it in high school. Not going to either, hehe.
23lb difference currently! It's been the same on there since I was a scrawny 17-year-old and every time I go to renew it, they just look me over and go, "Okay, description's still the same..." so I don't correct them, lol.
Right now, about 15 pounds over what my license says, but I still have my license from when I changed my name after the wedding and I ACTUALLY thought I could maintain my extremely skinny wedding weight for an extended period of time. Dumbass.
lol! I just did this today too and changed my name! Mine is truthful since I just updated it today.
ha ha ha, I'm about 25 pounds over my DL weight. I'm working on it though! I have to get a new picture before March, I want to wait a few weeks, hopefully my face will thin out a bit before then!
I'm about 5 pounds over right now. It has the same weight that was listed when I was 16....but that's not to say I was a particularly thin 16 year old!!! LOL. I've been 20 pounds less and 20 pounds more than what it says though, so I'm pretty happy where I am.
I guess it's something you just don't think about changing. I mean some women change their hair color like they change their panties so that might get a little inconvenient.. Bahahaha!!!
I know we show our ID's when asked but seriously, who looks at the weight on their licence? I honestly didn't until today. Maybe I should just lose those extra 25lbs and I'd get the daunting task of buying all new clothes... awwww poor me!!!
I think mine is off by about 15 pds. It's been 11 years since I originally got my license. I just keep renewing and have only changed my pic once.
Currently i'm 2 pounds more than my DL has but I fluctuate 5 pounds up and down, (at the height of that 5 pounds right now), so usually my DL is right on.
I think everytime I've renewed it, they just used my old weight. I think I got my learner's when I was 15 (14 would have been the youngest possible). Pretty sure I have gained some weight since then
Mine is accurate from when I was SIXTEEN! In fact, the day of my 16th birthday! I am now almost FORTY POUNDS heavier and 2 inches taller. I have to get my licence renewed this year, so I am wondering if they will recheck all the info.
I did correct my licence a few years ago, however, because I need glasses to drive at night and had that added on.
Mine is over what I currently weigh. I told the DMV 120lbs but I am 115lbs.
Mine is right on with what I weigh now.
Speaking of odd data on DLs though, CA requires you to put your hair color. That to me is just laughable. Am I supposed to go update my DL every time I go to the salon for a change? That won't be happening.
Haha. This made me LOL.
I haven't changed mine since I got it when I was 16. I think I may update it since mine is, oh, 50 pounds off and 2 inches short. Lol. I think I may have to keep those pesky 10 pounds off though. People checking my age don't need to know everything.
On another note...I want to move where it isn't required!
Driver's License says 125 lbs
Current weight is actually 128 lbs
So, not too far off :)
nj doesn't have weight woohoo. even so, i've been the same weight since i got my license 7 years ago.
Mine was spot on accurate - and the license is from nearly 3 years ago. Now that I am pregnant though, the license is off by 6 pounds and I am sure that number is going to continue to grow! I will be hoping to get back down to my license weight though soon after the arrival of the little bub.
