This is not wedding related at all, but I'm looking for recommendations for a new book to read (acutally, listen to- I'm a huge fan of audible.com). I have two audio book credits right now, only 15 minutes left on my current book, and I have no idea what book to listen to next! Any recommendations?

I looove anything by David Sedaris, especially Naked. His works are great as audiobooks because his voice lends so much to the stories.

Oh wow! I love: anything Barbara Kingsolver (esp Poisonwood Bible) or Jodi Picoult (specifically The Pact or My Sister's Keeper). All Over But the Shoutin' is a great southern memoir that brought me to tears (the writing is PHENOMENAL). If you're at all into girly historical fiction - Philippa Gregory (The Other Boleyn Girl, etc) is a fun romp.  Or, if you were ever a fan of Pride and Prejudice, Pamela Aidan has a three book series that is the book from Darcy's POV. Other non-fiction: Bill Bryson (hilarious travel writing) or Ghost Wars (if you're into our issues with the Middle East).

I'm probably not the best person to answer this for you, because I like old classics!

My favorite books are: The Great Gatsby (I traveled with it through Europe when I was 16- so it reminds me of that time- and my wedding is based of the jazzera)

The picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (fantastic book!)

And, the complete works of Shakespeare.

Oooh, how I love my classics. And murder mysteries. Those are good too! :)

Great question! I'm looking forward to reading responses.

I also love classics (and Gatsby is also my favorite!), but I've recently read _Atonement_ and _The Time Traveler's Wife_, and they were both great!

    Happy reading! :)

I second The Kite Runner and from the same author A Thousand Splendid Suns. Both really good books. I'm currently reading book #3 of the Twilight series called Eclipse. They are so addicting.

I'm not a huge reader (hope to be someday) but I know my mom RAVES about Jodi Picoult, as many others have already said.

My favorite book of all time is definitely A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.  I could (and have) read it over and over again!

I'm a classics fan (Pride and Prejudice, any Shakespeare I can devour) but I must confesss a love of young adult lit.  The books are cheap, easy to read, and often action (and drama!) packed.  I just try to imagine the characters as my age... rather than teenagers.  My current obsession is the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld (there are 4 books, starting with Uglies).

I second books by Philippa Gregory. I'm currently reading my third book by her and they are sooo captivating. Seriously who needs soap operas when history has more  drama. :o)

Mrs. Sushi--I like Phillipa Gregory as well!  Captivating is a great word to describe her.

I love long, historical fiction novels, especially set during the era of Henry VIII/Elizabeth I
