I love Bellini's! They originated in Venice . I believe they are champagne and peach nectar. :) not blue but very tasty!
My mother has a book of punch recipes, and there is an amazing one with white wine and fresh fruit -- rings of orange and other citrus additions -- that's amazingly light and delicious. If you're interested, I could try to get more info on this!
Champagne with a dash of amaretto liquor or champagne and guava juice--yum!
to add to your plum color, I know alot of people are fans of adding cranberry juice to champagne, it is similar to a plum color if you add alot of cranberry :)
I will be making limoncello and adding champagne to it! I've also heard on "lime-cello" made with limes instead of lemons, so it would be a more pale green color and you could add champagne to it.
@ beagle: No, it's actually NOT a sangria -- though I LOVE white wine sangria. It's probably siimilar, though, just with the addition of champagne.
kir royale!! i'm not much of a drinker, but i started drinking these because my mother loves them. they're kind of an old-fashioned, retro, throwback drink, but they are quite lovely...and kind of pinkish/purpleish/orangeish (if you can imagine that)
, depending on how much creme de cassis you add.
Mmm! These are all sounding so yummy! Do you guys think it's silly for me to offer just champagne cocktails instead of nothing at all. ( I would rather all out cocktails not be an option... we're not big drinkers and our families have had not so great experiences with alcohol. )
I don't know.. I guess I just feel like for some reason i'm obligated to have some sort of alcohol.
Keep the recipes coming, they really do sound very yummy! In the meantime I'm definitely going to check out that book!
You can mix just about anything fruity with Champagne and it'll be good. Another thought for you is Sangria. I went to a wedding that was beer, wine, champagne and sangria. (For them it was a budget choice, but same diff - no hard liquor.) They made personal choice for the beer and the sangria was a big hit.
I second the champagne + creme de cassis or perhaps an cheaper alternative to champagne like cava or prosecco and adding a raspberry or blackberry in each glass to go with your theme. The blue in the glass looks really blue-would it stain lips?
I love the traditional champagne cocktail which is (I believe) champage, congac and bitters. My family also serves what we call "pointsettas" at Christmas, which is cranberry juice and champagne. If you added a dash of something else (Chambord, maybe) you might get that plum color you were looking for.
Check out this site, they've got champagne cocktail recipes, sorted by color!
This is by far my favorite champagne cocktail.
May you enjoy it as much as I do (even if you don't use it for your wedding, you should definitely drink one!)

I love a Blood Orange Mimosa as well. I got the recipe out of Gourmet, so it should be on epicurious.com along with Doctorgirl's recipe
Boy did I pick the right place to ask about champagne cocktails! They all sound so yummy! I might just have to have a bridesmaid get together and try some of these out!
hehe
At my bridal shower the hostess served bellinis made with champagne and peach scnapps with 2-3 raspberries dropped in. I think that she froze the raspberries first. They were definitely the best bellinis I have ever had.
I think champagne cocktails are a great idea, especially considering the family situation. These will be classy and fun, and hopefully cheaper and less all out liquor. Everyone likes to sip on champagne. I have similar family issues and I really like this idea! Have fun!
I love bellinis too! All I can think of is the classic mimosa & mimosa w. a splash of cran :) MMM YUM!
have you tried cassis / kir with champagne? it's called a kir royale. i think it's purple - would that work w/ your plum shade?
i love raspberries in champagne...
the best champagne cocktail is champagne, chambord & raspberries to garnish!
How about champagne and pomegranate mix? I had a good one the other day, it was champagne, a splash of sour apple mix and an apple wedge.
Kir Royales are so delicious. We're definitely having them!
Mmm, the Caribbean Blue looks tasty! I love Hypnotic! I also love Bellinis, and a friend introduced me to "Venetian Sunsets", which are basically mimosas with a splash of grenadine. They look super pretty too.
We're doing a champagne bar at our wedding next month with the following cocktails:

Diamond Fizz
Ingredients: 2 oz. Gin, Lemon juice from ½ lemon, 1 tsp. Powdered Sugar and Champagne
Directions: Shake gin, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a champagne glass. Fill with chilled champagne, garnish with Rock Candy Stirrer, and serve
Blushing Bride
Ingredients: 2 oz. Rose Essence, 1 oz. Raspberry Puree, Champagne
Directions: Add the rose essence and raspberry puree to a champagne flute. Top off with chilled brut sparkling wine or champagne. Garnish with a fresh raspberry.
Something Blue

Hiya, Bees!
Okay so I'm not really having a cocktail hour because a lot of my family is against liquor, so I thought maybe instead of offering all out cocktails I could offer a couple of signature champagne cocktails.
I would like it if they could be in our colors, shown on the hearts in my icon, and also we're using a smidge of plum here and there in our color scheme.
I found a tasty sounding one online called a Caribbean Blue, which of course on our cocktail menue I would call the "Something Blue" but I'm open to ideas. I wanted to offer at least two.
What are your favorite champagne cocktail recipes? Bonus if they're in our colors! :)
