    Hello Bees,

So today a few friends and I got into a conversation about toys the kids have now verses what we had when we were little. (This came from a doll that was pregnant) and we started talking about our favorite toys from when we were little.

I must say mine were my Cabbage Patch Dolls and my Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby doll (I seriously asked my FH for one of those for Christmas)

What was your favorite toy when you were little?

The boxes the stuff came in. I remember always loving the big boxes. One Christmas my mom gave me a refrigerator box.

I also liked those little plastic things that you put on a form and ironed to create... well something stupid.

That and there was this weaving kit that you could make potholders.

Apparently I was a craftly little girl.

@MsPanda: I had a friend that had a huge collection of Sky Dancers, we used to shoot them at each other. lol

When I was really little, it was probably any Barbie. I remember getting an Easy Bake Oven when I was 6-7 and I was OBSESSED with that thing.

@zippylef: We had a HUGE field behind our house that all the kids would play in but my mom didnt like us playing in so I would shoot my skydancer over the fence so i could go play in the feild until my mom yelled at me lol...

@zippylef: OH easy bake oven I loved mine too! My mom was always complaining about having to buy the refill packs of the baking mixes.

OH and I wanted a lifesize barbie so much when I was little! I bought one for my daughters and now i just think its creepy...

I loved my Popples, many ppl don't know what they are but I had like 5 of them and me and my sister used to play fight with them, it was soo much fun. I also used to watch the cartoons. And another one is my Strawberry short cake doll, OMG, that poor doll went through so much with me, I took her EVERYWHERE!!! hehehe

Here's a picture of what Popples are:

@couawilou: POPPLES WERE MY FAVORITE, TOO!!! :) Every time I mention them, people ask what they are... I was in shock that so many people don't remember Popples!

Although, I never did get my Easy Bake Oven that I wanted so bad... I asked FI to buy me one for x-mas this year... I used the reasoning that it would be way more fun than the real oven I use because it's miniature and makes tiny things.

@couawilou: I loved my Popple too! I had the little green one at the front in your pictures. So much fun!

I loved Barbies as a kids, and my favourite would probably have to be the year I got the Barbie Van. It was a huge pink van that converted into a camper for Barbie... loved it!

I loved a lot of different toys over my childhood.  Some of my favorites were:

Barbies (and the Barbie mansion with automatic elevator)

    Lite Brite

    Easy Bake Oven

    Baby Born

@MsPanda:  I almost forgot about Sky Dancers!  I had all of them!

@Boston Bee:  Water Babies!  I was obsessed.  I had so many of those, and I even had some minature ones.  As a little girl, I was on a quest to find the most realistic looking and feeling baby doll and those felt kinda real.  I didn't like Cabbage Patch dolls so much because they looked like dolls, not real babies.

@BayStateBride: Does that mean that you never asked your parents for Lego or that they would only let your brothers have Lego?

Omg how has My Little Pony not come up?! I used to play with them in the bathtub.

@Lemma: My brother always got legos, I liked assembling them the way you were supposed to so once he lost pieces I lost interest.

I had more than 50 ponies, the beauty salon and tons of accessories. I LOVED them and still have every single piece in a box in our attic.

It’s a toss up between the Barbie Power Wheels convertible or the Christmas when I got everything NKOTB (posters, lunch box, comforter, thermos, t-shirts, slippers, headbands, you name it). I had a healthy obsession. :)

@LGenz: Me too!! I had those seahorse ponies with a swimming belt, they changed their color depending on the water temperature!

Sometimes my friend and i put our favorite ponies onto a skateboard and went for a walk with them like a pull-along toy :))

There was this little set of mini cups and plates at the hardware store (the only store wa had in our town - closed since then) and I wanted it so bad, but my parents wouldn't buy it for me.

At Christmas not only did they have that exact set I wanted, my dad had made me a miniature cupboards for it... I was SOOOOO happy!!

@sarahbabs: That van was awesome! My mom told me I wanted it sooo bad, and apparently it was one of those super in demand toys so they were all stressed about getting it for me. Haha... looking back, I can't believe my parents were that nuts about getting me one toy! It must have been when I was still an only child :)

    @Lemma: Loved Legos too!
