Just wondering if any of you remember who the first Bee blogger was you began following, either purposefully or by accident. Be it the result of a random google search, the first blog on the page the day you found weddingbee, etc.
Do you remember "your first Bee"?
Are there any Bees who you followed through & through or backtracked through all their posts?
Do you have a Bee you can relate to the most? (*please do not say anything negative or Bee-bash!*)
I was really into Mrs. Mouse and Mrs. Sprinkle when I first started reading the 'Bee. They were both in the middle of their recaps and I really liked their taste and aesthetic. They are the two bees whose personal style is closest to mine, I think.
Miss Kitten 100% inspired my cake. Her inspiration was ideal for my wedding!
My friend gave me a list of blogs the day I got engaged that I should add to my feed reader. Cupcake was the blogger whose wedding I quickly became fascinated with, I love her style!
Miss Oyster started blogging the same week I started reading Wedding Bee. I really enjoy her posts. I also enjoy that she is a bit older than most of the Bees and closer to my age. (I'm in my early 30's.)
That said, I seriously love reading all of the Bees's posts. I get so excited when one of their weddings happen and I'm sad when they write their final posts. I feel like such a dork, getting all emotional about girls I've never met. Please tell me I'm not the only one!
Jasmine! But she was already an archived Bee by then. :) The first Bees I followed were Labrador and Bruschetta.
Mrs. Poodle got me here, but I now I'm addicited!
@lilybay - I'm a reader bee in her 30s too, so I know exactly what you mean. All the current bees are younger.
my FSIL told me there was a blogger on weddingbee who had her wedding at the venue we had recently booked and was in the middle of her recaps. it was mrs mouse! i got hooked on the 'bee about 10 minutes after that.
I think scissors was the first one I actually started following. Though I definitely have to give shout outs to cola, cowboyboot, cherry pie, socks, and oh gosh there are definitely more but I'm failing at memory atm!
Mrs. Dolphin started right when I started reading, so I guess she was my first. I'm loving Miss Cardigan right now - her style is similar to mine (what we've seen so far, anyway). I went back and read Mrs. FroYo, Mrs. Pencils, Mrs. Doxie...and probably some others that I'm blanking on now.
Mrs. Piglet - she got me in with her BM dresses! they're the same color as mine! :) (plus she's a Korean bride, so i could relate!)
and Mrs. Swan - her recaps were so ALIVE i loved reading every entry! :)
but since then ive kept up with scissors (can't wait for recaps), pencils (loved her thorough recaps w pics for everything to boot!), and CARDIGAN (my fave thus far - just cuz i knew her on the boards for so long :P)
yay for bees mrs/miss bees alike :)
Miss Paisley's post about DIY Letterpress b/c I was trying to do it myself (and have since successfully completed my invites!) After that I realized it was lots of blogs although much before that I had looked around the classifieds for a dress not realizing the blog portion...there's so much to the site for newbees!
Mouse & Sprinkles were the reason I started reading.
I'm really into Doxie, Stripes and Snow now.
Fro-Yo was the first bee I read. She and Mrs. Lamb got me hooked.... but I love all the bees!
I think I caught some of Mrs. Pug's re-caps. Then the 'bee kept popping up in my wedding related google searches, and was constantly recommended in my google reader. I don't know what took me so long to give in!
I don't actually "follow" any bees, and I love to read recent posts from all the bees. I relate more to individual topics or single posts than to bees overall, I think. The bees who stick out to me are Hot Wings (probably because of the school posts), Seahorse (because she's sort of a non-bride bride like me) and Cardigan (because I remember her from the boards). I love Champagne's and Cowboy Boot's recaps, too. If I could have my dream wedding no holds barred, it'd be a winter lodge/Christmas feel, so that's probably why.
I am glad that we have such a diverse group of bees through the ages because i think there is definitely something for everyone!
I remember the first post I found was from Ladybug because I was googling "peony rubber stamp." I was completely sucked in and read all of her posts in one day.
At that point I was addicted and since then I have followed Candy Corn, Fro Yo and Pug most closely.
I started reading during the time of Mascara and Gloss, and I believe Mouse was fairly new at that point. Miss Mouse was one that I followed a lot, as well as Glass and Mascara.
Apple Cider and Espresso! I think I found WB in the first place by finding Cupcake's 12 Steps to Creating DIY Wedding Invitations though!
I also need to apparently read Mrs. Cowboy Boot's archives...I've noticed that she gets mentioned and referenced to a lot...by the bees and the boards!
Cherry Pie's blog was the one that got me hooked, and then I found Avocado, Sea Breeze and Dumpling. It was so cool to see wedding planning from such different perspectives. And now I follow the latter 3's mom blogs.
I just LOVED Miss Bruchetta's blogs. She's so quirky and cute! She's the one who got me hooked!
I don't really remember the first but I am pretty sure that right when I found the 'bee Mrs. Bunny had posted and I took interest because she was from Columbus... so I read all her archives :)
i think cherry pie was the first one i started reading.... sooooo long ago it seems. nowadays i really like sewing. i like poodle too. i miss bruschetta and bunny. i liked following them back when i was planning my wedding too. i wish they would do their recaps.
Mrs. Powderpuff was the first Bee I read all of...She had written her last post right around time time I started reading. Then I saw she had a Michigan wedding, so I read every bit of it. Pretty sure I spent half a day at work last summer reading all of her archives. It's been downhill ever since and have now read the entire archives of many a bee.
I came across weddingbee by accident, saw one of Mrs. Cupcake's recaps, and was hooked. I also loved bruschetta (miss her!!) and champagne, and more recently, pug! She is hysterical.
I have no idea who took my Bee virginity :) But the first Bee I followed from post #1 to current was Mrs. Pineapple. She was the first Pittsburgh-based Bee I came across, and I was really interested in reading a local Bee.
Mrs Lab was the first I started following just because she got married in Savannah - where my hubs and I had our destination wedding. Outside of the Savannah stuff, we are polar opposites though... I didn't share any of her tastes but it was fun to see Savannah landmarks in her posts. And I thank her for helping me find Wedding Bee! Mrs Pug has been my favorite blogger to follow... agree with @Moose1209 that she's hilarious. :) I also liked the look of Mrs Cowboy Boot's wedding and enjoyed Mrs Swan's tone in all of her writing. I'm sure there are a ton more (Hamster, Poodle, FroYo, Buttons, Lace, etc.) that always have me on the edge of my seat.
Mrs. Snow wasthe first bee that I read and said, "ooo, I love her!" But there's quite a few whose posts I really look forward to.
My first was from way back, Mrs. Shortcake! She had already been archived at that point, but her wedding was lovely. Also, Mrs Pineapple. I found the site because of her DIY hair flower tutorial.
One of the first Bees I followed was Scissors. Because she became a Bee around the time when i started becoming more interested in the boards and I was here when she got her Bee status.
@stephbolt: What others blogs? I'm just curious because I am finding it difficult to find wedding blogs that I can really get into!
I believe I found Weddingbee through Mrs. Champagne but I was hooked pretty quickly on reading pretty much every single bee post. I can't think of many bees that I'm uninterested in reading or whose posts I tend to skip over. I love them all!
Mrs. D'orsay brought be to the hive with her immigration related posts! I also loved reading Mrs. Cherry Pie's wedding :)
I'm in the Scissors camp! I think we may have been saracastic sisters in a previous life. I think I was hooked when she tried on her wedding dress and wrote "I could hardly wait to put that f*cker on!!!!". I thought to myself, finally, another bride who swears like a sailor! LOL!
