I was working the register today and this regular approached me and said very quietly, “So, I noticed the other day that your husband is getting…” (and he makes a hand motion like that of a pregnant woman.) Confused I ask him what he said and motion that I can’t hear him. “I said, your husband seems to be getting fat, and once it starts it just doesn’t stop.”
I’m aghast. So, I said “Well, my cooking is just too good for him to resist.”
I’m still angry. WTF is wrong with people. And then he had the audacity to tell me that “He wasn’t trying to be rude.”
Jealous bastard. My Fiance isn’t fat.

Hubby Boy is getting fatter. He was so skinny before met me… So what? Now he is absolutely perfect and that’s the sign he likes my cooking! 🙂

Omg, what the hell is wrong with people? I cannot imagine saying something so vapid. Facepalm.

‘. . . once it starts it just doesn’t stop.’ What the . . . ?
I am torn between the reaction of laughing my butt off or eyeing this person up and down and saying, ‘you know from experience, then, do you?’
Irregardless, I can’t believe the boundaries of common courtesy that people choose to cross without batting an eyelash. Yet it happens all the time.

@cirrus:yeah, I giggled nervously and looked at him with the best “WTF” face I could muster. I have no idea what is wrong with people. Yes, the man who made this comment is twig thin.

That is seriously out of line… WTH??? I would just tell him that it is a sign of happiness in a relationship, maybe he should reevaluate his if he is having trouble keeping weight on.

@SleepingWithNuns: And then he had the audacity to tell me that “He wasn’t trying to be rude.”
“Well sir, you may not have been trying, but you certainly succeeded.”

I think everyone gains a little weight when they get into a relationship (my Fiance 20lbs me 10lbs) but that doesn’t make either one of us fat nor does it make it anyone’s business.
I would have said “You know, I’ve noticed your nose is getting a little larger. It seems to be getting into all sorts of places it doesn’t belong.”

@SleepingWithNuns:He’s a jerk. Your Hubby to be is a dish! Case closed 🙂

ive had my fi family tell me the same thing…”you should really make him loose weight, hes getting so big”…i usually just reply “he does the cooking, and im not fat so obviously the issue is something or someone else” and then just look at them
