I want to make something or use something in my wedding that we can then keep around the house as a reminder of the day. I would ideally like a couple. One idea is to buy or make a large wreath heart and hang it on the wall behind us at the reception dinner and then hang it on our wall above our bed.
Another idea I had was to sand down our wooden coffee table and have people write messages on it, which we would then varnish over and could have for keepsake. Fiance doesn’t like this idea but I want something similar but can’t think of anything.
Has anyone done this sort of thing? or can give me some inspiration please? 🙂

We are doing a canvas thumbprint tree instead of a traditional guestbook. We plan to hang it up in our house after 🙂
Ive also seen birdhouse cardboxes on etsy that I am drooling over. They are customized to be the same colors as your house, with a slit in the top for cards. After the wedding you can put in in your yard as a birdhouse, and a reminder of your day 🙂

Well, I dried my bouquet and my sister’s Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquet, and have them in a vase in our house.
We also had a guestbook fingerprint tree, and that hangs in our dining room:
Also, less along the lines of a physical item from our wedding, but I preserved our written vows to one another and made this, now hanging above our beds (first initials of our names):

ooohhh! Bostongrl25 and pengoala those are both great ideas! I think the bouquet will be placed somewhere, but how I’ll display it is tbc.
I think I’ll work out a way to include our vows too!

we are doing fabric squares at the wedding so each guest can leave us a message on.. we made a very cute fabric pen holder and fabric box out of wood that we plan to use in our bedroom and a very cute poem for the table.then i will take the squares and either make a quilt or a fabric wall hanging for our bedroom. The poem i printed out on antiquey looking cardstock in a victorian font. here is the poem ( this isnt my font)

@pengoala: How did you make those vow frames?
They are gorgeous.
I plan to use silk flowers so we can keep them.
We are also comissioning one of our favorite comic artists to draw us and we are going to have people sign that and frame it after the wedding.
Depending on the centerpiece you are planning maybe you can save one and keep it on a side table.
