@immigrant bride: Ah, that's so funny. Just the other day I was wondering where Curtis Stone had gone since I haven't seen him on TLC in ages, and I was hoping he'd get scooped up for a Food Network show. Now that would be nice.
As far as who drives me crazy, it's Rachael Ray hands down. "EVOO," "my girl boo," "yum-o!" Dear Lord, her voice and mannerisms make me want to jab a screw driver in my ear drums.
My favourites are Ina and Giada. To stick up for my homegirl Giada, did you know she was actually born in Rome? If anyone has a right to "Italianize" an Italian word - it's someone who was born in Italy! But I know it can get a bit annoying nonetheless.
@GabGal - I remember the first time I saw Giada's show I kept thinking, "why does she look so off?" I couldn't tell if her head was too big or if she had really narrow shoulders! Glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed.
lol, this thread has me cracking up!
the ones i dislike:
sandra lee. i love/hate how she coordinates her kitchen to the show topic. i love making fun of it but really? how necessary is that? but i'm also oddly fascinated that she thinks the stuff she makes actually is a good idea. like that tiered cake she made and then decorated with cookies? i also HATE her tablescapes. there's barely any table there! a lot of them would do better if she learned to edit and not put everything that relates to the theme on the table. less is more.
but maybe she's had one too many of her own cocktails. i hear alcohol impairs your judgement.
rachael ray. i started liking her in the beginning but then she was everywhere all at once. now it's too much rachael. then she had that weird thing happen to her throat [not entirely her fault - i heard she had to have surgery?] and all i wanted to do was have her clear her throat, it was annoying.
bobby flay. sigh. this guy. i was so-so about him until he tried to make kimchi [his turned out looking more pink than red] and said, ON TELEVISION, that the kimchee will turn redder as it ages. uh, bobby? i've watched my mom make kimchee for years and hers always started out red and stayed red. there was no pink --> red maturing going on there. you made yours wrong; admit it and move on.
i do enjoy the neely's though i agree, it's time to draw in the lovey-dovey and get down to cooking. and anne burrell is growing on me because some of her stuff looks good but i really wish she would stop growling at me. it's very distracting and oft-putting. i also like guy but less on his cooking show and more on triple d.
