Oh, I know I’ve had a couple of moments like that.  I wish I could remember though!

ETA: Actually I had a really DUH moment last night.  FI handed me a drink last night and I thought he mixed my malibu with pink lemonade even though it was orange.  I completely forgot that I had a Sminorff’s screwdriver in the fridge.  I was like “oh, this is really good with the pink lemonade!”  Haha.

I got the two temples mixed up where we were having our engagement prayers this past Friday – half of the crowd went to the wrong temple! Fortunately a mass group text message straightened everything out. Even better, the actual temple was only 7 minutes away from the wrong one. Boy did I feel like an idiot!

My FI works for Delta airlines. One of the perks of his job is free flights so we are flying to Italy for our honeymoon.

We were hanging out with a bunch of my family talking about our honeymoon and flight and all that and I ask, “What airline are we flying?” Um….wow. Major blonde moment for this brunette! Haha!!

DH was coming to my house from work (while we were engaged) and I called him and said, “You need to come home as soon as possible.” He was like, “Why?” I said, “I can’t tell you right now.” After much prodding I finally admitted that I didn’t know how to plunge a toilet (I had watched several youtube video on how to do it without a plunger), and he had to show me how. It was a fantastic bonding moment, lol.

It wasn’t really a mistake, but I now know how to plunge a toilet. Go me.

@megz06:  I would’ve done the same thing.  I’ve had FI plunge the toilet plenty of times.  My reasoning?  He’s a plumber.  Hahaha.

when my FI and I first started dating we were on the phone and I was trying to find parking and there was an accident in the lot and there were just so many things to pay attention to that my mind was on auto-pilot (yes, i know.. i shouldn’t be on the phone while I drive)

We were hanging up and I said “I Love you” I was absolutely mortified!! We had only been dating for a month at this point. saying i love you at the end of a phone call is totally normal for me and my family. I was so embarassed.. I didn’t know how to react. But hey, it turned out just fine! 🙂

lol….. my and my roommate in college had a wheel-over dishwasher. We ran out of dish detergent so we thought “why not just use dish soap?”. So we proceeded to fill both reservoirs on the dishwasher with regular dish soap , turn it on, then go into our respective rooms to study. When i came out to get a drink there was soap suds that had flowed out of the dishwasher so far that it filled our kitchen and was starting to make its way into the living room. We had no choice but to let it run its course and scoop up the suds with a dustpan and dump them in the tub. It took about 3 full runs of the dishwasher to finally get it to stop making copious amounts of bubbles. Needless to say the moral of the story is that you can’t always make substitutions…..lol

My SO and I moved in together at the beginning of the year. Our apartment has an electric stove, and both of us have only used gas stoves before. We turned on the stove, and one of the burners wasn’t working. We weren’t sure what to do, so we called our (elderly) landlord to take a look at it, and he merely picked up the burner, turned it so that the connector part (not sure what it’s called) was touching the metal, turned to me and said “That’ll be $5.” LOL. I was so embarassed Embarassed

Ok, I am obviously a serial poster, but these are too funny and I have one more to share.

In 2006 I started becoming a baking professional (well not literally). I made the BEST batch of cookies ever. So, when I moved into my apartment in 2008 I started baking cookies. They never turned out! I thought when I moved into my house in 2010 it would change (for some stupid odd reason). Nope. They would just crumble on the pan or they would hold up but be completely empty on the inside and crumble to the touch. I changed my butter, added more flour, less flour. Nothing.

….that’s because it wasn’t flour in the bucket labeled “flour”. It was powdered sugar. No, I couldn’t tell the difference (and I was obviously too dim witted to taste the damn stuff) until my mommy came over, looked at it, and said, “OMG Megz! You’ve been using powdered sugar for the last 4 years!!!”

My cookies turn out wonderful now 🙂

@Regina Phalange:  LOL we would have if it wasnt like 2am when the bubble takeover was discovered…… we still laugh so hard about it when we bring it up over a glass of wine. Funny enough the roommate who was my partner in crime with the dish soap is now my MOH….. we will see if we come up with any more “bright” ideas for the wedding…

This isn’t really to do with moving in/getting married/having a baby, but it was still pretty dumb.

I got a new camera recently and the first time I used it, I was able to upload the pictures to my computer just fine.

The second time, I grabbed the cord, realized I’d grabbed the one for my old camera by accident, so went back and grabbed the right cord. So, I plugged the cord into the camera, then into my USB port, and nothing happened. I tried turning everything on and off and on again, tried using the search function on my computer to locate the device, and nothing. I decided maybe I’d better install the software that came with the camera for uploading pictures, even though I hadn’t needed it the first time I uploaded them. I installed that, plugged the camera in, turned it off and on again, etc. I read the camera’s manual. After about an hour of unsuccesfully trying to upload pictures, I threw the manual across the room, picked up my laptop and camera to move them and…realized I had somehow managed to plug the correct cord into the camera, but the wrong (old) cord into my USB port. So I had the wrong cord connected to the computer and not connected to anything on the other end, and the right cord connected to the camera, but not connected to anything on the other end. The cords had been sitting right next to each other, kind of tangled, and I never realized I was plugging in two different cords. Once I figured it out, I was able to upload my pictures in 2 seconds.

And that was a few days ago.
