My symptoms of extreme fatigue, boob tenderness, and frequent urination started right before my missed period. I only had nausea with my 2 girls, but that came about a month later.
Before my missed period I had sore boobs, some light cramping, was constantly peeing, and was SO tired like I had only slept 2 hours every night. I didn't think anything of it because the first two things happen monthly anyway. However, after the missed period I got more and more suspicious that it could be something else. So, I tested and sure enough, I found out I was pregnant. Then, maybe a week after, the lovely morning sickness aka all day sickness kicked in.
I only really remember extreme breast tenderness. It started maybe a day or two before my missed period and was really bad the day I should have gotten it. I kept saying to FH that my boobs hurt and he jokenly said "are you pregnant?". It wasn't until he said that that it actually hit me that I might be!
Mine happened after, like at the last possible moment for symptoms to happen, but then I was sick the WHOLE pregnancy. However, my husband knew I was pregnant immediately.
I had them after. I took my test because my period was late and then like a week later everything hit me!
My symptoms were sore boobs and a tiny bit of spotting after DH and I had some alone time. I have never ever spotted before. I suspected then, but I have a larger chest and had been running the day before, so I wasn't sure if the sore boobs were baby related or running related. The next day I talked to my FSIL, then bought a test to take the following morning. BFP!! The symptoms started Tues/Wed, test was taken on Friday, and my missed period was the following Monday.
For this pregnancy, I don't remember any symptoms really kicking in till about 6 weeks (i.e. 2 weeks after missed period)- then they hit me like a semi-automatic.
For my first pregnancy, I started having insanely intense lower abdominal cramps on and off about a week before my missed period- we were doing pregnancy tests almost daily to see if it was because I was having an ectopic pregnancy (I wasn't), and we got our first positive test when I was in the ER for the cramping (we thought it might be a kidney stone!)
This is my 1st pregnancy and I am 13 weeks along. I did not have any noticeable symptoms before I missed my period. A few days after my period was due, my breasts started changing and the nipples started getting larger. I took a test 6 days after my missed period and it was positive. I was about 5 weeks along. It wasn't until I was 6 or 7 weeks along where the symptoms really hit hard: nausea, cramping, fatigue, breast tenderness.
I didnt notice a thing until after my missed period. I felt fatigue hit at around 6 weeks and extreme nausea shortly there after! Knowing your period schedule helps, I know some people who had the symptoms first, but thats because they didnt clock their periods and were at least 2 months pregnant before they knew.
I had cravings early on, before a missed period, which went away around 6 1/2 weeks, I'm guessing they may come back. I also was a lot more tired on runs, and a well just had fatigue in general, and had cramps that I thought were for the monthly visitor but ibprofen did not help with them.
After that I started getting a bit naseous, but not sick, especially if something smelled 'bad'. I have to say my sniffer is pretty incredible right now. Boobs hurting started maybe around 5-1/2 weeks, like I'd wake up at night when I rolled over. I'm not sure if I got used to it or they just hurt a bit less now.
I'm only about 8-1/2 weeks now and a lot of symptoms have lessened except fatigue. Fatigue is crazy.
Thats funny that this is being talked about, I'm having a feeling that I might be pregnant. I haven't had any of my usual period symptoms yet and I'm a few days away from my normal cycle. I guess I should wait until I pass my period date before I start freaking out. This is a good thread because everyones is a different expierence.
I tested when my period was 8 days late but I didnt have any symptoms until about 7 weeks. The nausea hit me like a train and the breast tenderness was almost as bad. I also got frequent headaches and noticed my veins a lot more.
About two or three days before my missed period I got extremely tired and cranky. My husband will tell you I kinda went crazy for a few moments too. I had been grumpy all day long and then went into this laughing fit that lasted about 15 minutes for absolutely no reason. We knew something was up with my hormones at that point so I tested a couple days later on the day of my missed period and it was positive. Nausea didn't hit til week 10 and is still going strong.
thank you all so much for your replies! I ask because - well it's that "week" but it's not here yet and while we're not actively "trying" we're not trying NOT to either...i've had (tmi) extremely light spotting (like barely there) - but my last month's was on the 7th. I'm usually a 26 - 27 day girl and tomorrow, being the 7th will be 30 days. so really i'm about 3 days late. and calculating backwards to um when we did anything this month, it WAS during times that (according to an online calc) I was ovulating (TMI, yes i know. lol) ...i totally understand though it could just be late.
we wanted to start TTC closer to the end of the year - but I secretly hope it IS now. :p if it's not - though - i did learn (from another thread) about OPK's and I am going to buy one next month and hope for the best! (again, next month/december is when we had planned on starting to TTC)...
course i swear SO many girls here at work are pregnant right now - whatever's in the water - hopefully i've caught it! lol. but if not - hopefully soon. :)
@JuneBride_26June2010: If you think you are late you should totally test! That way maybe you'll know one way or another. :)
@Lillindy: oh i will. :) i just wanted to wait a few days before going out and buying one - just to make sure it didn't come on full force and i bought a test for nothing.
so i think i'll stop and pick one up tonight. :)
The only symptom I noticed before I knew I was pregnant was that I had really urgent urges to use the bathroom -- more urgent than before. I noticed the others after I knew.
When I was pregnant, before I missed a period I felt a little 'off.' I don't quite know how to describe it, I wasn't feeling fluish(morning sickness), or overly tired at the time, but I knew something was up.
A few days later I started to notice that my appetite was lagging.
After that is was just a ridiculous gong show that I won't get into :P
@monalisa670: waiting to use the test til tomorrow morning. had to hide it coming in the house as my mom is down here tonight and of course i don't wanna tell the husband right away (specially if there's nothing to worry about)...
stil no visitor though... :)
ok - so it's pretty un-nerving that i'm now at 30 days from last and nothing...BUT the PT had a big fat "not pregnant" on the read out (digital, very cool! lol). And honestly I'm ok with that. :) we're not in any big hurry and we'll still have fun trying! haha. I did pick up some ovulation predictor strips yesterday, too - so who knows, maybe by the end of the year?! beginning of next?
but yeah...as far as "AF" goes - she's not here yet and i don't know why?! I am honestly NEVER late like this - and i don't think it's stress because I've been working on DEstressing my life lately! lol. :D
so we shall see!
I tested like 3-4 days before my period and it was negative. I tested on the day I was late and I forgot how to read the test. So I went out and bought 2 other tests by different brands. I only used one, so now I have a bunch in my cabnet lol!
If you dont get a period at all this month, I would go in to get a blood draw. You see those shows with the stupidest girls thinking that they have to go to the bathroom, but really they are in labor...I will never understand why they took a pregancy test to be the 100% truth even though they had a bunch of other symptoms!!
@JuneBride...Bummer! But, good attitude. Lots of things can make an ordinarily regular period late...i.e., stress, travel, etc. I'm no expert but from what I've read on these boards too you still could be pregnant but it could be too early to tell. If you still don't get it in a few days, I'd test again!
@CeeCee: haha - those shows annoy the hell out of me! i know pregnancy isn't going to be all rainbows - but i want to "enjoy" it as much as I can! lol - plus, seriously - how the hell do you not know that you're growing a human being in your body?!!
yeah - while i'm not having a full on period (TMI???!!!) i am spotting...but the thing is - NORMALLY I do have a heavy one...so i dunno ... we shall see. :)
i pretty much had PMS symptoms just before i missed my period, for about 4-5 days - fatigue, sore boobs, light cramping on and off, and chocolate cravings. looking back, i think they were a little stronger than usual, especially the fatigue part (i was sleeping 10 hours every night and taking naps for a few days!). usually, all my PMS symptoms stop immediately on the day of my period, but they have continued. especially the boobs. ouch.
