Will you arrive in a limousine, horse drawn carriage, etc. to your wedding? Or do you think this is just not important, and would rather spend the money on something else?
I want a bunch of black suburban SUVs like I'm the President.
I'm only half joking.
We're having a destination wedding and my only options are to enter via golf cart or carriage hhahaha.
We rode in a vintage convertible! A couple from church we're close to owns it. So it was free and meaningful. :)

We'll be arriving in a '50s Cadillac in black, used to belong to Eleanor Roosevelt. it's so sexy.
@Minutiae: I would love to ride in a classic car. I just need to find one around here (pout)!
We had a limo that the whole wedding party rode in... it was fun to have that moment with them right after the ceremony but if it's not in the budget I don't think it would be a huge loss.
I'm pretty sure we'll be arriving in..............a couple of Dodge Caravans, haha. I can't tell you how low on the list this one is for us!
Our reception is at the same location as our ceremony, so honestly, NO ONE would even see the car/limo if we rented a fancy one. We also have a small wedding party that will easily fit into the 2 vans we have. So, I'll save the $800-$1000 and show up in the van! Don't worry, I'll call shot gun. ;)
I really wish we could afford a limo, but it's just not in the budget. So...I didn't really answer your poll because I would spend the money there if it was up to me but FI doesn't think it's worth it.
We rocked my mom's sweet van to the wedding and DH and I drove his stylin' 02 Accord home. lol. Transportation was NOT in our limited budget.
@zippylef: Same here, we took my dad's car haha. DH does own a vintage truck but it was sick at the time and we couldn't take it :(
I picked out "another fancy vehicle" i'll be riding in a gold cart because i'm getting married in mexico
I would have LOVED to have a horse-drawn carriage, and we probably could have afforded it if we had sacrificed somewhere else. The other things were more important, though, and so we ended up in my Lexus (don't get too excited... it's twelve years old and has 240,000 miles on it). We realized on our way from the church to the reception that it was filthy, and so, while in all our wedding regalia, we drove it through a car wash and made out in the car while it got clean. :-D
Our wedding and reception were at the same place, so renting anything for transportation just didn't seem necesary to me. I arrived in my dad's regular car.
I would go for a classic car if it was within our budget. As it stands, we'll make do in my Hyundai!
SO is a fireman, and the station he works at has the greatest antique fire truck used mainly for parades. That is what I am hoping for!! If not that, who knows. I'm not ready to spend big bucks on a getaway vehicle.
My FI and I had a stretch Navigator for our prom (which wasn't too long ago) so I think we'll be forgoing the fancy transportation to save money since we already had the limo experience haha.
Our wedding and reception are at the same place and we'll be staying there the day before as well so there's no point in renting a special vehicle nor is it in the budget. However if we could splurge and travel were part of the day, I'd adore a vintage ivory or white Rolls Royce.
our ceremony/reception was in the same spot, so literally *noone* saw what we arrived in. Which was my BM's Buick and left in my FIL's Ford Focus (with my FIL driving because oooh boy was I not in a state).
We had a Jaguar limo--huge waste of money! Don't get me wrong it was a beautiful car, but for the money we paid for it, I wish we would have spent it elsewhere...and having a DIFFERENT vehicle to ride around town was #1 on my wedding must have list when we first started out.
We arrived really early, for pictures, so no one would have seen us had we "arrived" in something awesome! We left, however, in a hummer limo, so that was fun!
Our ceremony and reception were in the same place, so it would have been a waste of money. I drove to the site with my MOH, and DH and I left in our 1999 CR-V.
We're arriving at the ceremony site with our wedding party in a trolley but leaving together to go off with the photographer in a horse drawn carriage.
1920's V12 Packard! :D We did a faux getaway after the ceremony. All of our guests waved as we drove off around the block. It gave us a special time by ourselves after the wedding before the reception, and it let our guests clear out and head over to the reception site so we could have the area to take pictures. Loved it!

No one is going to see me arrive (ceremony & reception at same place), but FH is contemplating renting a new camaro for us to leave in. He has a 1968 Camaro hes restoring but it won't be ready for our wedding. But I'm guessing if we're one of the last to leave no one will see us anyway.
I just want someone to decorate my FI's car and then drive us to the hotel in that... it's nothing great but it's free and we can enjoy the just married stuff a little longer if it's on our car. =)
We got very lucky... We had a short ride to the restaurant where our reception was, and when it was time to leave there my MIL had a sweet ride all ready for us.... (that's her in the purple dress in the first pic :D )

Before I answered, I looked at your wedding date, and I sighed. You're getting married in May, just like I did. I had visions of having a gorgeous, white, antique Bentley or Rolls Royce for our pics, but I was unable to book any of the beautiful antique vehicles I wanted due to two ominous words: PROM SEASON. At first, I also could not even find a limo company that would not charge me outrageous rates and require a minimum of eight to 11 hours rental, because that is what they are able to command during prom season. I am so thankful that I finally found a very small, private limo company that allowed me to rent a gorgeous black limo for the three hours I needed to get us from the reception to our hotel in our departure city. I wish you the best in finding whichever mode of transportation your choose!
my grandpa renovates old cars so he is driving us away in my favorite (a ivory and creamy yellow 56 studebaker!!)
I chose a stretch Chrysler limo for our transport and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day.
We didn't have an extravant budget, but the limo was definitely worth every penny!
ETA - And when was I ever going to get another chance to ride in a limo?!
As of now my dad is driving me up in his 50's Ford something or other truck that he's been building for the past few years. If he could get one of the Volkswagens running I'd rather ride in one of those. It's meaningful for him :)
1965 Rolls Royce Princess!! I can't wait to get a pic of me and my dad pulling up to the church in it just like my mom and her dad!! :)
We are driving away from the ceremony in my dad's '63 Porsche 356 coupe! It is red, and our colors are red/aqua. :)
1952 Rolls Royce Silvercloud II, it's white. I love it! It will be a surprise to everyone including the fiance!
Transportation wasn't very important to us but I did want to be able to ride with my bridal party to the reception. Since my mom lived so close to the church and all my BMs were local we got ready at my moms and drove ourselves to the church so we wouldnt have to rent two limos. Since all the groomsmen were out of town and staying at the same hotel i had the limo pick up my groom and the groomsmen and bring them to the church then we all got to ride to the reception together after the ceremony.
@Brielle: Thanks for reminding me! May is prom season, so I will have to decide about transportation soon..
@Kemma: I haven't had the chance to ride in a limo yet, so my wedding would really be one of those occasions where we could make it happen. It would be fun to ride with the rest of the bridal party, but we were planning to stay and pics (my future husband and I) alone before the reception. It's going to take some extra planning, but it would be nice to have a limo or some other fancy car :)
