My shoe budget was zero because I had the perfect shoes already. Then I found another pair of shoes and fell in love with those so I bought them, but they were only $30!
I definitely did not think about putting a budget on the shoes. My thought was that I would keep searching and just buy what I liked. I ended up splurging, but since my family is paying for the wedding, I did not mind putting out the money for my own shoes. And considering I am in love with them, I know I'll get good use out of them after the wedding.
Hi my name is...and I'm a shoe-a-holic. I wanted the pink petal sandals by Christian Louboutin which are way out of my budget, but settled on a simple satin blush pink peep toe with pretty shoe clips for less than $50.
And I think I'll probably by a second pair to go with my reception dress. I always find a reason to buy shoes
hehe jaydee, you're cute...
i'm just wearing flip flops for my wedding. I bought a pair for $18.00, but then i wore them (i know, bad girl!) and got them dirty, so I bought another pair - which I actually like better - for $12.00!!
HAHA...I think I'm addicted, seriously. I was willing (and still considering) spending more on the shoes than I did for my dress.
I really wanted to splurge on some Manolos or CLs but ended up finding a pair of blue Nina Elkes on clearance at Dillards for 20 bucks. And everyone (okay, the women) loved my shoes.
I had a $200 budget (to be used up only if I really LOVED a pair of shoes; that would come out of other accessories!), but then I discovered designer shoes at BlueFly and fell in love with Pradas and CLs. Then I thought, "well, $500 is okay if I don't buy any other clothes for myself for a year," but we all know how likely that is.
I'm now trying to force myself to only look at shoes under $100. :-/ Such a let down!
I just bought the coveted nude patent CLs in the 85mm, which for a very long time will be the nicest shoes I own. I still can't believe i bought them. I probably won't wear them with my wedding dress, but I WILL be wearing them with everything else I have in my closet every day that I get a chance. For my wedding dress I'm just going to get a basic gold pump that can be worn again, but put clips on it. I think it's hard to find quality shoes under $80 unless they're on sale, so I'll be hunting the sale racks or searching for shoes.com coupons.
I bought some blue ruffle heels that look a bit like LV Balmoral knock-offs at Debshops online for $15! I am planning on purchasing summer soles to spice them up with a cute inner sole for pics/comfort!!
i splurged on a pair of beautiful pink badgley mischka's and im in love! and theyre my first pair of designer shoes so im pretty excited all around!!
o and ha i didnt have a budget but my parents and my fiance did but i got around that :)
I didn't have a budget at the time b/c it was my first wedding purchase! FI insisted I splurge and get a pair of CL's..but I didn't (wasn't available in the style I wanted anymore) so I wound up finding a fabulous pair for $130CAD.
I always have a problem with finding shoes. I'm stingy, and I will give up the perfect pair of shoes because of the price tag. My budget will be $100, but I normally pay $20 or less for name brand shoes.
I'm wearing a tea-length wedding dress, and got it on the cheap, so I decided I would splurge on shoes (I gave myself up to $300 to work with ... I know). I'm doing a white dress with black accessories, including sheos, so I wanted to splurge because I knew I'd wear black shoes over and over again, and wanted a really nice, special pair. But I had awful luck with most designer shoes because I have rather wide feet, and all the ones I LOVED were just way too narrow. I think I bought and returned about five pairs, and tries on countless pairs in the stores.
I finally found a pair of Nine West evening peep-toed pumps and they fit perfectly (Nine West always comes through for me). They were $80, so I definitely ended up saving some bucks.
I didn't set a budget, however that said I knew I wasnt going to get any 'designer' shoes etc so when I found mine at the price of $160 I was perfectly fine with dishing the dough!
I'm not a shoe-addict but I couldn't help myself, and splurged on the Cole Haans (the Nike Air sold me!)... in fact, they should be delivered today!
I love shoes, but I really wanted to keep my shoe cost under $100. The type of shoe I wanted (ivory satin peep toe sling-back or pump) isn't something I'd get any other use out of, so I didn't want to spend too much. I had my eye on a pair on JCrew, but I just couldn't justify the expense, when I knew that ivory shoes would sit in the back of my closet after the wedding day. I was lucky and found a pair that were really similar to the JCrew ones I loved at only $40 at DSW!
I have 5 pair! ugh. I bought a beautiful pair of Steve Madden pumps with a little rosette at the toe but they were not quite the color (slighly pinkish hue) I needed or envisioned to match my ivory dress with sable sash. Waited to long to return them, so I'm stuck with them and need to resell. $89
Then I purchased a pair of colorific jada sandals which fit my feet beautiful but I wasn't over the moon about them with my dress so they are sitting waiting to be returned. $99
Saw a pair of light green and polka dot peep toe pumps on ebay and thought - "those might work and they are cheap!" While they are very cute, really don't work with my dress. Nonreturnable $20
Then I found the Nina Electra, ordered them in white and had them dyed a sage green. They are darling and really add some flavor to the dress (the boys are wearing sage and ivory polka dot ties) $99 + $35 to dye them
So, I thought I had settled on the green Ninas when I found out Net-a-Porter was having a massive sale. Found gorgeous champagne colored Christian Louboutin Fortunas for almost 50%. Couldnt pass up my favorite shoe designer on my wedding day, right? And his shoes do have some significance in my relationship with my FI - the first gift he ever bought me was a pair of black, patent peep toe CLs! $623
So, I guess I'm up to $965. Yikes! Trying to work both the green Ninas and the CLs into the day. Just not sure how yet....
I totally splurged (as the white box in the background indicates, yikes!). I needed heels that were comfortable for several hours, and these were the only ones that matched and fit the bill. They are a few times more than the most expensive shoes I've ever owned. But I know I'll wear them again a lot since they are gold, not white.
We're having multiple events, and I've found some pretty great deals for shoes for the rest. But overall I would say my shoe budget has been pretty high :)
i didn't have a budget, but i ended spending only $40! i found my shoes on sale, i loved that they were peep toe's, i liked the color and heel high and they're also very comfortable!
I wasn't planning on splurging but excused myself when I got these red kate spade heels that I will definitely be able to wear after the wedding!
I splurged on Fluevog Sugars. I don't care for very many shoes, but these were pure love... and honestly, I feel like they are so much more than a shoe. They are art!
I have budgeted $100 for shoes. I hope to spend less....
@mrsmurraytobe, those shoes are gorgeous!!
Mine were $29.95 plus $5.95 shipping. Then again, I was thrilled to find bridal shoes in my size--something I never managed in my first wedding. My size is 11AAAA; laughter is a common response when I go to try on shoes.
My budget? $100, my goal $50 actual less than $25! I couldn't find a pair like my icon that I could afford so I was happy when I found another pair I liked :)
My FI had originally vetoed bright pink as a wedding color (I'm still not sure if I'm going to use it), so I decided to make my dreams come true with my wedding shoes since they won't really be seen at the ceremony and totally splurged (although I saved $325 off original price) on the CL Hyper Prive in Shocking Pink.
At 120mm they are pretty tall, but we are 10 inches apart in height so I'm used to the heels and these seem extra comfy with their platform :) I'm in love, they're one of my only wedding buys so far.
My shoe budget is zero because A) I am going barefoot and B) Even if I do decide to wear shoes, I am borrowing strappy sandals from a friend.
i really don't have a budget for shoes. i found a pair for $60 and i like them.
I bought a pair of super simple Kate Spade ivory peep toe pumps. I would have liked to have something colored or flashy or fun, but I didn't want anything to take away from the dress.
So far it's been about $175 but I am wanting another pair to have..why???? why???? and I may spend a bit more.
I snapped these up on eBay for $35. I liked them when I saw them online, but I LOVED them when I tried them on!
Mine were 90 from Nordstroms. I didn't set a budget b/c I was pretty sure that it would be hard to find orange satin peep toes. Lo and behold:
I didnt set a budget and fell in love with a pair of gold Manolos that go perfectly. I was really lucky though to find a pair on ebay for $350... Otherwise would have been at least $700
I love seeing everyone's shoes! Honestly, this is the part I'm most excited about right now. I spent $100 on a tea-length dress that I adore, so I'm allowing myself to spend twice that amount on the shoes. I've got a really specific idea of what I want and I'm not finding them anywhere. I'm really drawn to Badgley Mischka shoes, but I don't think I can keep those within my budget. :)
I bought a pair of Martinez Valero's that I loved for $150 even though I didn't want to spend more than $100. Now I am unsure about the M. Valero's and am looking at a pair of Kate Spade's (the Mattie) for $275... UGH! I don't know that I can return the M. Valero's though which means those K. Spade's will actually cost me $425! I found a pair on J. Crew that I like too (the pleated satin shell for $198) so we will see. I just know the book isn't closed on this shoe search.
I'm not setting a "budget" per se - it's going to be a "I'm in love" situation. They will be my something blue, and since the perfect blue shoe can be elusive, if I find the perfect shoe I'm buying it. Ideally they would be the CL petal shoes (not knockoffs) that were magically on sale for like 99% off.... A girl can dream, right? I also plan to troll eBay for steals. I will, like many of the bees, probably end up buying like 5 pairs of shoes. I'm a shoe addict. My FI doesn't care though. Whenever I buy something new he comments on my cute new shoes. I think he just says that because I want to hear it, but who cares!
