I used to work banquets at my summer job and I worked many bridal showers. I was wondering if it is a regional thing but every shower I worked had the groom come at the end of the shower to help out. And he always gave the bride flowers. When Future Brother-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law got married, Future Mother-In-Law bought flowers for Future Brother-In-Law so he can give them to his bride. He had no idea that he was supposed to do that.
So is it a regional thing? Did your Fiance give you flowers when he arrived toward the end of your shower?
I know this is a silly question, but another post about fiances and showers got me thinking!

No flowers here. I have never heard of that custom, but Fiance did come at the end.

I’ve never seen it either, but it’s a nice idea!

I haven’t had my wedding shower yet but, my Fiance will not be there and I have never seen anyone;s Fiance come to a bridal shower to help out or give flowers.

Never heard of the flowers thing and I’ve hosted/attended many a bridal shower. Typically the groom does show up towards the end to thank everyone for the loot and load the car but he normally doesn’t come bearing gifts.

@MlleBrielle: That is common here too, he usually brings flowers for the bride and the host of the shower, or the bride and the 2 mothers. He gets to greet the guests and then helps to clean/pack up any gifts.

I’ve seen it occasionally but usually the groom doesn’t come to the shower at all around here. My husband was actually at the shower the whole time, he stayed in the next room with the boys but would pop over a lot to see what was going on. But There were no flowers.

I think that’s pretty common to have the groom come in the last half hour or so, to say hi to everyone and see the gifts and help load them into the car and clean up. I’ve not heard of the flowers being a “must” however I think it’s such a sweet gesture; at the last shower I was at the groom did that and everyone awwww’d. I hope mine does it for my shower!

I’ve seen both with my extended family, but no flowers. With my family, we typically have to travel for the shower (since a few of us live 3+ hours away), so the Fiance comes along and goes out with the guys and comes back at the end to help load.
I know my Fiance won’t be there, but someone has to stay home and care for our dogs.
Baby showers are the same in our family – the guys all go out to eat together, then come back at the end.
Likely has to do on areas – my family is all in PA.

No flower, but they do come at the end. At mine Darling Husband and the best man showed up. They of course stuffed their faces first LOL. Then they met a lot of my Aunts and things that hadn’t previously met, or spent time with. It was nice.

Nope, never heard of the groom coming with flowers. I’ve never been to a shower where they showed up at all.

I haven’t been to many showers, but the ones I’ve attended have followed the groom & flowers custom you’re describing. I’ve seen it done two ways – the groom shows up at the very end, or the groom shows up right before the gift opening starts. Every time, it’s played up like he’s surprising the bride, but really, I think it’s kind of expected. Still cute!

The showers I have been to, the FIs always show up at the end, either with or without flowers. I haven’t had mine yet, but Fiance won’t be coming at all. We’ve talked about it and it’s really not us, so he’ll be staying home. Most of the people that will want to see him (we live close to my family and they see him all the time, his family is 2 hours away) will most likely come back to the house afterward anyway.

um, nope – my Fiance showed up in a ripped tshirt to become a tank top and shorts to help load the car. I was horrified. He didn’t know people would still be there (he came after it ended) so didn’t think to change.

I’ve never heard of this. We’re having a jack n’ jill so Fiance will be there for the whole thing.
