I don’t have a ring hidden away, but I sure do have an uncut center stone, an aquamarine!  Well, my SO has it… but hopefully he doesn’t have it for long because that baby needs to be cut and set.

Nothing purchased yet, but we do have something picked out and the first large chunk of $$$ tucked away. πŸ™‚

I’m sure I will have NO idea that it’s in the house, if he even hides it here. He’s mentioned that he has no where to put it in our studio where I won’t find it. I told him to hide it at his friend’s house so it may never even be in my general vicinity until I have it on my hand.

We have a stone (pic below), and are currently designing the setting (rose gold with champagne diamond mini-accents). Had/having to get both from the US as all the UK equivalents are SO EXPENSIVE!

I’m finding that doing it this way is a gazillion times more romantic to me than getting a surprise <3

@LaurenK0105: Hurrah for getting the stone first! Aquamarines are so gorgeous xx

I Do. My ring is sitting in SO’s desk at work. If it were in the house, I would definitely snoop. Hopefully, he doesn’t keep it hidden for too long. I’m very tempted to go “visit” him at work. Laughing

@bride_in_training: Thank you! I’m not sure what size the center stone is yet (I will let you know after he proposes). He wanted there to be some sort of suprise. So he picked out the stone himself. He knows that I hate being out of the loop and that I would tear the house apart if I knew it was in there somewhere πŸ™‚ BTW I live in MI too!

@Hermia: Yours too!  I loooove colored gemstones!  They’re just so beautiful and, no offense to anyone, but diamonds are boring to me.  I’ll either have a diamond halo, or clear quartz side stones; but for the center stone, diamonds (and their equivalents) = zzzZZZzzz.

@bride_in_training: Thank you πŸ˜€ this last month, looking and designing and planning, has been so romantic and fun for both of us. It’s also getting us used to the idea of planning for a wedding too, in both of our styles – one step at a time ;P

@LaurenK0105: I personally feel the same way about colourless diamonds (now, fancy diamonds…! YUM YUM *ahem*) But, then again, I have seen some absoutely gorgeous colourless erings recently that could go a long way to changing my mind on this. Clearly I just love beautiful things, full stop ;P πŸ˜€

It took me for ever to decide on which colour I liked most for my centre stone: I could easily have gone with orange or yellow or even a pinky-red. I guess I’ll have to have extra ering alts in the future O.O

I hated this part. Before FI proposed he hid the ring in our house. And I snooped. But I couldnt find it. He is really good at hiding things. It drove me crazy.

My ring was custom made by Eternity Diamonds. It’s just like this picture, except the halo is slightly larger and the band has no diamonds on it. It’s currently in my SO’s possession. I’m just waiting for him to pop the question I can’t wait to have it on my finger!!

Beautiful ring! It’s so close to being on your finger!! For some reason, after I knew my SO had it in his possession, I got anxious all over again.
