I actually think she’s a good choice! She has publicly struggled with her weight for years, and is constantly criticized when she’s photographed looking heavier (who can forget the mom jeans incident). I think it’s a good strategic move on the part of WW to reach out to some women who struggle with their weight but aren’t necessarily overweight. VS Jennifer Hudson who probably appealed to woman who were more in the overweight/obese category.  of course she could’ve lost the weight with a trainer and chef, but so could any celebrity. This way, she’s getting paid (30 million!!) to lose the weight instead of paying someone else. So it’s smart of Jessica too.

@Krises:  I agree! WW is a great, very effective program also, so I have no doubt it’ll actually work for her.

Edit: 3 million, not 30 million. Damn, that’d be nice though.

I think it’s great when celebrities do this.  It shows that they have to put the work in too.

It helps dispel the myth that famous people have magical ways to lose weight.  There is no magical way.  Eat less, move more.

Even if you have a chef and personal trainer you have to actually eat correctly and put in the work.

I think she’s a good choice. She has publicly had battles with her weight and other women can relate to her. Although, it is sometimes discouraging to see how quickly celebrity spokespeople lose weight due to their access to top personal trainers, chefs and the fact that they are paid to look good.

For sure, she’s using a personal trainer and chef along with WW. That being said, she’s a good choice, but i’m not sure how many “fans” seh actually has these days.

Don’t care. It isn’t important.

I think it’s stupid. they need to pick “real” women who are working every day and running a household. Of course a celebrity can lose weight! She has signed a contract, and her income depends on her looks. Plus, she can crash it off now and gain some back later, after the contract is fulfilled. It’s so phony.

She really is the “face” though, huh? It aggravated me that they didn’t even show her body! Hello! We need to see her starting point.

She admits to working out with a trainer but I couldn’t find anything about a personal chef. I know that celebrities have sell-power, but I’d rather see someone who actually did it themselves without the help of a trainer, chef, nutritionist, or the time to do a six-hour-a-day workout.

I liked Jennifer Hudson D:

I thought she was a great face of WW. I don’t like their new points system. There old one was great, but this new one was kind of “meh”. I switched and starting gaining wieght 😮

I’m watching my intake now, sans the program. I really need to start working out more. It’s on my to-do list.

Personally I would never use WW with her as a spokes person. She is just a flake to me and I refuse to use any company that uses her.

TO – MissFireFlower: you said,

Are you referring to the system where you used to mark off servings per day ?  That was the system that WW had in place when I originally joined eons ago (I am a Lifetime Member).  I LOVED that program…

I’ve tried to get into the Points System, but it just doesn’t “turn me on”… too much to look up or remember.  I sooo wish I could find a copy of their old program and try that again… I found it very easy to follow / comprehend… and because it was based on Servings (and the Food Guide to some extent) it wasn’t that difficult to translate eventually into the Maintenance Phase of WW.

I may be alone in this, but I actually really like her. Sure, sheseems naive about a lot of things, but she seems to be a genuinely good person. Obviously, I do not know her personally, but I still like her.

@bunnyharriet:  Real women that’ll be amazing! But sad true is, people will join just because is Jessica Simpson.

They’re not showing her body? then what’s the point?
