While I love my set, I also really love the look of a plain band worn alone. I think that the simplicity of it is understated and beautiful. During her marriage, Jacqueline Kennedy wore only a thin, plain band and I think it is such a classic and timeless look. My wedding band is sapphire and diamonds but I am thinking about getting a plain band to wear sometimes. Of course, I adore my set and would still wear it most of the time. Would you feel too plain wearing just a band like this, or would you feel beautifully simple?

I actually love it. When my husband and I were talking about getting married, I thought I’d want just a plain band, unlike the blinged out ring from my first marriage. To me, it was as if our love was so powerful and strong that the band didn’t need to be anything but simple. But he ended up wanting to get me something blingy. Honestly, I’d have worn a twist tie on my finger. I didn’t care, I wanted to marry that man! 😉

I plan on wearing a plain band when I’m not feeling very dressy, but I still want to look married.

@MrsFuzzyFace: Not at all. My band is plain and I have no issues wearing it alone. It’s so classic but at the same time holds such a strong meaning. I’m a sucker for plain bands over gem studded ones though!!

Plain bands are great not only for their understated elegance, but also their practicality. It’s also a great travel choice, as it’s not a ring you’d get mugged for.

I wear a plain band the majority of the time because I worry about damaging my wedding set at work.

I wear one at home that I got from berricle. This way cleaning and showeing do not effect my ering.

Yes yes! My plan is to get a 2mm plain band to wear the majority of the time by itself! Also, perfect for stacks and who doesn’t love a stack (looking at YOU GelaMac!).

For me, it would depend on the width of the band. My plain wedding band is only 1.3mm, and I’m not crazy about how it looks alone. I love the look of wider plain bands, though.

Nothing says “married” to me like a plain band. I can’t wait to wear mine.

Go for it! I was planning on just getting a plain band, but was easily swayed away by the pretty glitz (and I wasn’t sure I liked the plain next to my ring!) I’ll probably end up getting one though depending on what kind of job I have (I don’t want to mistakenly stab a kid in the eye with my e-ring! )

Agreed with PPs. Very classic. You definitely can’t get much classier than Jackie Kennedy.

my sister just wears a plain gold band. I think it’s such a classic look.
