I don’t see it causing any problems, really. You’re not getting married in the same month or day, so it’s not a big deal. One’s a spring wedding, one’s a summer. 🙂

People always say you get a wedding DAY – not a week, month, season or year. If your brother hasn’t set a date when it comes time for you to do so, then go ahead and choose your date based on what works best for you. If he has, and it is sometime in May 2012, you still have June and July to choose from.

Oh, well then you still have leeway. April and June are great months! If you’re very worried about it, maybe you could talk to your brother about it. Tell him you want to avoid picking the same date as him, and see what dates he had in mind.

You get only one day, but for the sake of general family sanity and good relations, I’d try to get married at least a month from them.
