I haven't bought my wedding dress yet but I been shopping around. Here some that I love but they are completely different styles.
Do you have two dresses, I mean one for the reception and one for the ceremony?
Please share with me your experiences on what to look out for and a pic of your wedding dress!
What is the whole "feel" of your wedding? I think that is what I fell in love with on mine. It had the exact feeling I was looking for in my wedding (traditional, soft, pretty.) I tried on some very elegant, princess dresses but they just weren't me or my wedding.
I did still have some doubts on mine after though. You really just have to stop looking once you find one cause there are tons of beautiful dresses out there that are all designed to make you look great. You really just have to go buy how you feel.
Here is mine:
I wanted something without any sparkles, but in the end I went for something much more ornate than I would have thought. I'm showing a pic of the one I got (with the fancy back) vs. the type I was looking at in the first place.
i didn't really do that much research, but the one style that i liked was the mermaid/a-line.
lo and behold, that's what i walked out with. it was the first dress i'd tried on (i tried more on afterward and went with the first :))
these pics are on a gazillion other posts, so bear with me bees if u've already seen them!

I know its a cliche, but you just know. My dress is nothing that I was searching for. I sat down with the consultant and explained to her what I wanted, ballgown/ all beads. And then I saw this dress hanging up in the dressing room area and I was just facinated by it. I needed to try it on and then I didn't want to take it off. I actually don't have any pictures on this computer, but I think if you just go in with an open mind and as long as you have the feel for your wedding you will be fine. Good luck and enjoy it.
I originally bought the Selia Yang Natalie which I second guessed for the last 6 months! As of Friday, I have a new dress. Here she is (with some tweaks: strapless, ivory sash instead of tan and the top will not be see thru). Meet Monique Lhuillier's Edie...
Jim Hjelm 8810. The FI is not this perfect. Did I just say that?

Mine was my mom's, so I can't say I know the designer.
P.S. All of your dresses are gorgeous!
Here's my dress! It's a Marisa dress that we changed up a bit (replaced beading with lace). All that's left to be done with it is adding the crinoline in at the bottom!
I got something completely different from what I thought I would get. I tried on nearly 40 dresses & was going crazy looking for "the one." When I walked into (my third) David's Bridal, I saw this Galina dress on the mannequin and fell in LOVE.
I always assumed I would get a "non-poofy" dress... with straps... in white. Not quite!

I am a 2-dress bride! I will be wearing a more elaborate gown for the ceremony, but plan on changing into a simple chiffon dress after the first dance! I was able to get a great deal, and I'm extremely happy that I get to wear two very different styles, so that I didn't end up having to choose between them!
(Sorry, no pictures at the moment, I'll post some later!)
i heart these posts - haahaahaa - like some of the other girls I have posted this pic more than a couple times, sorry if you have to look at it again....I never thought in a million years this would be my dress...once I knew my wedding 'theme' I couldn't leave the store without ordering the dress straigt away...Its a Rivini and the style is Rennes...

I didn't really know what I was looking for when I started dress shopping - I had never thought about it before getting engaged, and didn't know anything about wedding dresses. Surprisingly, I was absentmindedly flipping through a Bridal magazine one day and an Aire Barcelona ad caught my eye. I fell in love with their Bahamas dress, and decided to start there and try it on at a nearby store. I LOVED it, and even after trying on 10 other dresses, nothing compared to how I felt in this dress. I was super lucky to find something so quickly! Once I bought the dress, I did not look back, and so far, I've had no second thoughts (we'll see if that is still true after my first fitting this weekend!)
Anyway, here's the dress:

I've posted mine 10349035809 times but let's look at it again ;o)
Rplatzer - that dress rocks! How beautiful!!! Love the back!
Lots of goregous dresses around here...
When I first started looking, I wanted a lace A-Line. Some sparkle, sweetheart neckline. I did not want a ball gown. Just something simple and elegant. Here's what I ended up with:
It's still simple and elegant, it's a far cry from what I thought I wanted!
I love love love dress posts. I took a ton of pictures with me, so they would have an idea. I wanted something that would make me feel like a princess, and that is what I got. It is the first one that I tried on, and then I tried 4 more on, then this one again. It is so me. It looks way better in person, and I will be wearing a fuller crinoline that the model.
Here is mine. It is nothing like what i thought i wanted in the beginning, but I can't picture me in any other dress on that day!
Thanks rawrkitty! From the front, I liked it, but my jaw dropped when I saw the back and I had to have it.
@akops41: we're dress twins! I have the Cecily too :) Yours fits perfectly - have you already had your fittings? Mine has arrived, and I have my first fitting in May.
I ended up buying a dress and changing my mind!
I found an amazing deal on a second-hand dress that was final sale. I bought it because every gown I tried on was either not me at all, looked weird on me, or was wayyy over my price range. I kind of gave up. Six months before our wedding, I had a freakout and told my husband (then FI) that I really didn't like the dress I bought. In the end, I decided on a BM dress that came in white, and it was tea-length, and a grand total of $280 with tax. I loved it. It wasn't my dream dress, but it was a good choice for me.
wow!!! Looking good ladies!!!! I don't have one with me in it juts yet. Mainly because its still on its way, but here's a pic! Rosa by Maggie Sottero

Here's mine after my 2nd fitting not too long ago. Now I won't see 'her' until October...unless I secretly visit her at the bridal salon. Maggie Sottero - Lavina.
This one is with the bustle and the 2nd unbustled. Not my veil.

@jenniferceline Can you post the actual DB site. I haven't seen that Galina dress before and now cannot find it online. TKS!
@farmersdaughter Your dress is so cute!!
How much was it? Do you have some pics of you wearing it?
Such beautiful dresses! This post makes me want to go dress shopping again! But I already have my Maggie so I'll resist!
I bought a dress impulsively on sale from David bridals but had serious dress regrets once I saw the pics I took in them. I went to a sample sale at a boutique and It was the first dress I picked. After trying 15 dresses on...I tried on my dress a 2nd time with veil...turned around and my mom teared up...I knew it was the one.
I posted this pic so many times....lol sorry ladies, just 1 more time!

So many amazing dresses, ladies! Here is mine. I loved her as soon as I tried her on...perfect for a beach wedding.
@farmersdaughter and juliaelizabeth: LOVE LOVE LOVE your dresses!
