Casual natural with a bit of urban chic :D And I am a lady in waiting as well (we rock!) but I am going to do it in a very miniscule 5000 budget... (M wanted 1500) where's my blank stare?!
I started the thread and my wedding does not fit into the box of what is popular right now. I had a small intimate affair at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia for about 40 people. We did a noon ceremony and a early afternoon cocktail hour followed by an extensive brunch. I think we were successful in our achieving our goal of having an elegant yet casual affair with a flair for romance (we had lush flowers and lots lots of candelight). By scaling back on our guest list and only inviting close family and friends and by doing a daytime wedding we were able to splurge on the venue and the decor.
A little bit of city soiree mixed in with homey touches... (I am convinced that our favor WILL be homemade chocolate chip cookies in cute bags! haha.) We're also bringing in a slight literary theme since we're getting married in a library.
I am not sure if I can describe our style, but this is our venue (but not my wedding) and I expect ours to look very similar. I guess urban shabby chic eccentric would be the best way to describe it.
My buzzword for describing how I want our wedding to be is just HAPPY! We don't have much of a "style" per say, but we are planning on lots of bright yellow touches and just a fun, happy vibe. We don't want it to be too formal or anything - we just want everyone it to have a really bright, airy, and joyful vibe!

I was intrigued by the rustic weddings thread. What sort of style or vibe are you going for with your wedding? Are you falling into the more eclectic, natural look that's so prevalent on the blogs right now, or are you having more of an upscale, cosmopolitan look at your wedding, or are you doing something else entirely? Did your budget change your original ideas?
I'm just a lady in waiting of course, but after seeing a lot of wedding photos and shows, and keeping in mind the realistic budget (around 8K...preferably closer to 5 or 6K!), I'm very happy with a casual, part classic, part country mod wedding. I have two free venues that are extremely close together (my home church & parent's backyard), and I've never been one for formalities, so it works. And it can easily be as beautiful as the most swag inner city affair. Gotta love natural beauty.
What about you?
