You’re SO lucky that you found WeddingBee now!!
I know sometimes it can be AGONY to wait for the engagement/ring/”official” planning to begin. I have been married for close 18 months and remember the “When is it gonna happen?!?”
argument discussion SO well. It is such an exciting and excruciating time, right?
But as someone who didn’t find this amazing community until after I was married (oh the missed inspiration!!) I am so jealous you all have this amazing community at this stage in your planning. There is this awesome, wonderful support through the challenges of waiting and then this great, joint celebration at every engagement. It’s so fun!
Married life is great (I guess that’s what the “wait” is for after all…soooo worth the wait by the way) but there is something so amazing about this little corner of the WB community that I want to jump into a time machine and be apart of!! Just wanted to let you know I’m jealous and impressed. 😉 You girls (and guys) have created something so supportive and special. Is it weird to want to be a “waiting” girl once you’re married?

haha not weird at all! We ARE super lucky that we’ve found weddingbee at this stage. I had really never even thought about wedding type stuff before I found out my guy was ring shopping… and already I know so much more than I did 2 months ago! Plus, if I vented to my friends about “waiting” rather than venting here… I might not have any friend by the time the wedding rolled around….. its nice to come talk through all this stuff with people who totally GET where you are!

I agree! I am soooo grateful to have found this site, otherwise I would either A. feel completely overwhelmed, B. think I’m crazy when I don’t think things should be done the “normal” way, or C. just be at a loss as to what to do. Or D. be all three at once. Now, when the proposal happens, a short engagement on top of finishing school and all the other craziness in my life won’t be so hard to manage. I can ask my man “OK, what do you envision?” work our ideas together with the stuff I’ve figured out, and run like hell with it. Done and done.
The hive is a sanity saver!

I totally agree with the pp… way back when the wedding channel had a someday section and two of the girls on there and i are very close lol i’m accustomed to waiting just not accustomed to being engaged and actively planning!! i honestly feel like every woman on here is a close friend and when they are engaged it’s like one of my besties just got engaged!! it’s really not a feeling of competition or sorrow or anything like that it’s woohoo she finally got hers i wonder if i’m next 😀

Totally agree with you! I get to see what everyone else is doing and learn from their experiences!

lol, not weird at all. we are a pretty fabulous bunch. but i was so glad they started this board because it’s made waiting slightly easier to handle knowing that there are other ladies that i can talk to about these issues who’d totally understand. plus i’ve stashed away so many great inspiration and ideas just from reading the blog that i’m real confident in being able to plan for real quickly.

haha yeah…I’m glad I’m here with or without the ring. I’m kind of perfectionisty, and I think I’ll be way more happy planning the wedding now that I have some sort of wedding planning foundation (or something…haha). 🙂
