Happy Friday Bees!
I just really need to vent a bit here. My fiance travels for work a fair bit and while I’m pretty used to the routine, it gets old sometimes. For instance – my darling’s next trip is taking him to Honolulu, Hawaii. Don’t be silly, of course I can’t go! A)We’re saving for the wedding, B) since I’m “part-time” at my job I don’t even qualify for time off and taking it unpaid isn’t an option (see point A) and C) we have a 14 year old who needs a parent at home.
The thing that *really* frosts my cupcakes? He’s staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach. I made the unimaginably stupid mistake of looking up the website – God, I would kill to stay someplace like that for our honeymoon but it’s out of the question. Flame me to kingdom come for being jealous but I absolutely am. Yes, I am grateful and thankful that my guy has a solid career-track job in this economy and I fully realize this is SO a first world problem but damn….it’s a hard pill to swallow.

Sorry you can’t tag along, that is a bummer! I wish you and the 14 year old could hop on a plane and go. 🙁
My DH and I agreed outright that when he is sent somewhere for business that I wanted to go we made it work. His business pays for his flight, the hotel and any food (his and mine) so all I need to cough up in a plane ticket.
Where are you planning to go for your honeymoon? Maybe you guys could save up and go back to Hawaii?

@Treejewel19: Honestly not sure where we’re going for our honeymoon. We’ve talked about the Gulf coast in Florida, doing a road trip in California (Napa Valley, Yosemite, Monterrey) where I grew up, possibly a cruise? I know that we’ll get to Hawaii eventually!

@Ms. Pink Scrubs
June will be lovely around here. When you decide to put together that California road trip let me know. We go to Yosemite twice a year, live right next door to Napa and go to Monterey every chance we get (headed there next month). Happy to answer any questions. 🙂
