That and the they’re/their/there mix-up are two of my biggest internet pet peeves. Drives me nuts.

There are plenty of other typos that drive me crazy too! I’m a teacher so I’d like to hope that I always use ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ correctly, LOL. However, I still can’t get the hang of affect and effect. In isolation I know how to use them correctly but I occasionally get tripped up. Good thing I only teach 4th grade now.

lol oh the number of grammar nazi threads we’ve had around here. I’m with you on that. there are so many …

“could of” instead of “could have”

“your” instead of “you’re”

*headache*

@sept22insf:  Haha, I’ve noticed that too. Another one I see a lot is when referring to the shoe call it “heals” instead of “heels” for some reason that one drives me nuts.

@star_dust:  I don’t get those either. Usually I just pick the one that sounds better.

Ugh, and when people confuse “then” and “than”. It’s the worst.

I don’t know why your caring about things that don’t effect you’re life at all, but then complain about the affects of it anyway. 😛

I’m sure I make plenty of mistakes with my typing, but usually I’m typing too quickly and just get confused.

Sometimes it bothers me, if I’m in a particular mood, but usually I just brush it off. It’s a fun internet forum. I don’t like people picking apart my writings, so I’m not going to say anything. (Though I think these threads, where nobody is being picked on in general is fine!)

Advise is a verb and advice is a noun. Sigh!

@star_dust:  I always remember that the “action” version of affect/effect (aka the verb) starts with A (like “action”) = Affect!  Thus, the noun version is effect.

– Do I hope to Affect (action word) change on this board by posting this response?

– I suspect the Effect (noun) will be little or nothing.
