the other inks work great. we had our screens re-screened with 230 mesh and they got completely destroyed. they are bent now and i think ruining our design. we also bought liquid emulsion, which hasn't been as crisp as using the yudu emulsion, but you definitely have to play with it.
I feel like there should be some simple way to build your own screen that would fit on the yudu machine. I don't know anything about screen stretching though...

I got a Yudu system for Christmas, and almost immediately I was astounded by how much the emulsion sheets cost (about $10 a pop sold in sets of 2!), so I started doing a little research about alternate products for the emulsion, inks, screens, etc.
So far I've found a lot off brands in ink like Speedball and Versatex that seem to be recommended by some Yudu gurus. I also found a Speedball photo emulsion/remover kit that I've ordered to test out.
So far the 220 Yudu screen has not been released to my local craft stores, so I was wondering if there's anyone out there who has used other brand screens for their Yudu screen printing?
I'm all about the "hacks" as I am not thrilled about spending a fortune on materials for this hobby...
