Bam! about 20 minutes before Valentines day, the man got down on one knee in front of our hotel here in montreal (after his planned proposal spot was thwarted by a homeless man singing in french, apparently.) He presented me with the exact ring I was hoping for, except bigger and nicer than I thought it would be! Behold:
1.65ct cushion center, VVS1, G color, no flourescence. 1.02 ratio, 67% depth. Virtually flawless.
Sidestones are .27 each half-moons, SI1, G color. TW of ring is about 2.2ct in a custom platinum band by Stuart Moore. I absolutely love it and would HIGHLY recommend Stuart Moore for anyone who wants something a little non-traditional. Now, the pix! Both are from my crappy droid camera, hopefully better pics to come!
And on my hand (size 50eu, roughly 5.75)
So excited! We’re in canada until Monday so no one has seen it yet in person, we’re having a great time emailing and facebooking and kind of enjoying it just ourselves. I still can’t believe it’s real!!

@jcent: thanks! I used to work in bridal jewelry manufacturing and the half-moon was always my favorite fancy cut. I love the faceting. I’m really surprised he was able to find two matching ones with that high of a color, they’re kind of hard to find because they’re not used much anymore (most sides are rounds or baguettes, even trapazoids are more common these days) When I saw this ring in the store about 6 months ago I totally fell in love, I’m totally impressed that he made it so beautiful without any help from friends/family/me!
