@jimjamjuju:  Drink lots of fluids and fresh squeezed juices, get some rest and I think you’ll be fine.  You’re going to be beautiful on your big day!

One thing that really helps me with my throat is taking a mouthful of anti-bacterial mouthwas and tiltin my head back to let it sit against the back of my throat, while holding it there for 60 seconds.  Do this 5 times a day or so.

As for your skin, if you have a couple of large inflamed pimples, you can have them injected with cortisone at a dermatologist’s officem which will make them shrink within 24 hours.

@jimjamjuju:  You’ve got 9 days to fight off a cold, you’ll be fine! It seems like everyone around me is sick too, I also have 9 days to go πŸ™‚ Maybe you slept breathing through your mouth & that’s causing your sore throat!

9 days is plenty of time to get rid of that sore throat and clean up that skin. I’ve been breaking out on my neck the last few weeks so I’m on it with scrubbing and moisturizing and it’s getting better. I’m sure stress is not helping you. Stay calm and keep your diet clean for the next 9 days. You will be beautiful!!

I second PP who said to go to a derm if you’re concerned about zits and get some cortisone injections. Try to forgo make-up as much as you can in the meantime, get plenty of sleep and water, de-stress, and use mild products. I was so stressed out before the wedding, but just taking a breather from wedding stuff and relaxing the week before really helped my skin look better.

As for the sore throat, you should be able to fight it off, but suck on some zinc (not too much!) and take some vitamin C. A spoonful of honey every once in a while can reduce the inflammation and also serve as an antiseptic. If you still have a sore throat in a day or two, see a doctor about maybe getting a z pack or something.

@jimjamjuju:  maybe see a doctor if it gets worse. It could be more than “just a sore throat” and if it is, 9 days might not be enough to heal it without a doctor…so just keep an eye on it. What face washes have you tried?

Drink lots of water and change your pillow case each night to combat the zits…My wedding is the weekend after your so I’m super paranoid about getting zits (I get them easily) or getting sick! I take vitamin C everyday along with my 4 other daily vitamins and make sure to get plenty of rest before your big day πŸ™‚

You will be totally fine- think positive, drink lots of water and use some zit cream! I definitely have been using cream lately- I’m the day after you, so it’s got to be the last-minute stress. Good luck and post pics after the wedding!!

@jimjamjuju:  I have used Melaleuca essential oils on zits before and it has worked miracles for me!  Also, swallowing a drop or two of melaleuca essential oil followed by drinking lemon water has worked on sore throats before.

Aww that sucks – sorry you feel bad! πŸ™  But I agree with PPs, you have plenty of time to get over that nastiness.  Just get lots of rest and take care of yourself.  I always gargle with warm salt water when my throat is sore – works wonders!  Also, neti pots are fantabulous for colds, especially sinus colds.  I’m a little germ paranoid right now, too.  My niece stayed with me the other night and woke me up at 5am throwing up, but I’m thinking it’s because she had dairy the night before and she’s lactose intolerant…please, God, let it be that and NOT the stomach flu!

Get to feeling better!  April 20th is going to be a wonderful day!!

I know this sounds totally crazy, but toothpaste has always cleared up any spots on my face.  Apply at night for 2 nights and usually they’re gone!

ETA: And for a sore throat, I would go to the doctor if it’s bad.  Only reason I say that is because if you have strep, you could likely pass it on to people in your wedding party as I assume you will be in contact with them in the coming days.

Or if you’re not allergic and can get your hands on some – penicillin.
