This is probably less than helpful (no pictures) but I loved loved loved all of those dresses looking at them online…

…and ended up with something completely different once I tried things on.  I don’t know what you’ve tried on already, but I would recommend trying on a bunch of different styles before ordering something.

(Similar dresses to see if places stock them, if you’re looking to try on something in that style: a bunch of stuff from the Ella Bridals, Eden Informal 1364, 1348, 1335, 1334, and 1124, and maybe Casablanca 1801.  I would list the Ella dresses but there are like 40 of them – check their website.  I had trouble finding someplace local to me to try them on.  And I swear to you that we at least have similar taste because I had 4 of those 6 dresses on my list and the Zoe is closest to the first style I was looking at.  I ended up with Alfred Angelo’s 2100.  It just came in yesterday and I adore it.)

I wore a Maggie Sottero Colby, Size 4 Petite.  I’m 5’3″ and wore 5″ platform wedge heels.  The hem did not need to be altered at all.

Based on my experience, I’d guess that at 5’5″ tall, you’d be able to wear 3″ heels.  Of course, the best thing to do is to wait until you have the dress and try on different heel heights.

Sorry, please disregard the part about the height in my last post.  I was responding to another bride’s post about the right height for her shoes and got mixed up.
