@brideybean:  One of my many brothers experienced the same problem you are describing. He stopped the treatments because it wasn’t worth it to him. Maybe they got some of the solution on your gums? I use Crest White Strips and have no issues with great results.

@brideybean:  Oh geez! I don’t know cause I never had zoom whitening, but even those White Strips make my teeth ache for days after using one strip. I wish I could tell you something that would help. Have you tried Sensodyne toothpaste? When I had a toothache (which I ended up needing an extraction), but the Sensodyne actually started helping the first day or two to take the edge off.

@brideybean:  what about using some orajel? I’ve never had that treatment done so I don’t know if this would help, but it’s worth a shot!

I had mine Zoom whitened too. I had the same think after. Random horrible tingly pain that would just come on out of nowhere. I recently heard that over the counter floride rince will help your teeth recover faster it helps stop them being so permeable, which is where the pain comes from I think. I also tried using my FI’s toothpaste that is for very sensitive teeth, that helped a bit. The relief trays didn’t do anything for me either. 🙁

It will pass in a few days at the most, honestly. Just hang in there. I thought the worse was not being able to have coffee for a few days after! Work was a nightmare without it! Waaa!

When I got whitened, the terrible pain went away about 12 hours after it started,  but it didn’t start until about 12 hours after whitening,  so 24 total

My mom had Zoom and it was awful! She was in pain for days, but the results were fantastic.

I had “zingers” of pain every few mins for 24 hours and then randomly for 3 days afterwards. But omg I had pretty white teeth!

Get some restoring mouthwash. I think ACT makes it? Use it 2x a day. I have to use this immediately after I do whitening strips.

Don’t mean to threadjack but my dentist told me that all whitening methods can be terribly damaging to tooth enamel.  He said the temporary whiteness is never worth the long term damage that occurs and he always recommends against any whitening method, even the strips.  Professional cleaning every six months is how I keep my teeth white now, I’m too paranoid, lol.  (And I quit going to tanning beds but that’s another story).
