Insanity is hardcore but you can go at your own pace so if you need to take a break then do it. I always stop and then keep going. I lost about 15 pounds between Jillians 1st (warm up), then Insanity. I didn't like Zumba. Its fun but I didn't see progress.
Which Insanity DVD do you recommend?
Also, I wanted to include a cardio DVD along with the strength training dvds...are there any cardio ones that you recommend?
Thanks!
Wow..Jillian's really kicked my butt!! I'm wondering about Zumba though. I know no exercise video is really easy, but I was in no way ready (nor will I probably ever will be) for Jillian!
Well some exercise videos are much easier than others! Jullian kicks my butt too, but you can modify some of the movements when you just really can't take it...
@Evie19: Hm, well, I've heard that the classes are a lot more intense than the DVDS/Wii. I'm assuming you want extremely hardcore and if that's the case, then probably not as intense as you'd like.
I think they would be fun, so maybe I should do zumba a few days a week to balance out the workouts.
Billy Blanks has some good workout video's also! On the days I don't go to the gym I either do the 30 Day Shred It or else one of his tapes or the cardio in P90X.
I strongly recommend Jillian!! I just did the 30DS and I loved it!! FI and I just started the 6 week 6 pack Monday and neither of us can move....which is a good thing!!
I just got a few Jillian DVDs and I've heard nothing but great things about them. I tried Zumba, but only for a couple weeks and it was pretty good.
I LOVE Jillian! I switch up between her yoga and shred and a couple other ones lol her yoga is amazing though because I HATE cardio but this will still get your heart rate up and kill your muscles. My back feels amazing after it though!
Good luck to you all :)
@MissBennet: ohh thanks for the tip re: jillian michael's yoga dvds...didn't know she had those as well!
I have two of Jillian's dvds, and they both kick your ass! I really like No More Trouble Zones, you can pick circuits you want to work on and even if you only do it for 15 minutes you feel it the next day!
I have the Zumba DVD's and love them. There are different ones to do so you don't get bored, some mornings I just do the 20min express before work and feel so much better for getting up and doing it. Every workout has me sweating within 10 mins (sorry that sounds gross) I find its a really good workout.
I really want to try some Jillian Michaels DVDs as I have heard really good things about them.
I personally didn't like 30 Day Shred but I love No More Trouble Zones.

FI and I are spending a ton of money this year for our home and also contributing to wedding stuff.
I was thinking I could save some $$ and do fitness videos at home rather than go to the gym. If I alternated between zumba dance cardio and jilian michaels strength training..that'll work, right? :)
