@bubbly: Poor Rochette! I imagine it hasn’t quite sunk in yet… she’s had to stay strong for her competition. Now it’s really going to hit her. I cried when she got her medal because they showed her dad & he had totally lost it!

Not a Canadian bee, but…

a.) Joannie should make every single North American so proud and honored to watch her represent Canada with such incredible bravery.

And, b.) That flag with the heart is the cutest thing ever.

Thanks, Canada, for hosting an awesome Olympics!! 🙂

Also, I was in Vancouver for the first time ever last week, and may I just say–you Canadians are among the friendliest people I’ve ever met!  Now I really want to go back.  🙂

@bakerella – I was thinking of you when I saw Shelley-Ann got the silver (I remembered that you said you were friends before on another thread)! Did you see the segment on her on The National??

And SO PROUD of our amazing female athletes!  There’s been some really inspiring moments!  Hopefully the female hockey team can inspire the men!!!!!!!!!!!

@bamm – I’m not sure I saw the bit on the National about her. They had a little interview with her between the third and fourth heats, I’m not sure if it was an excerpt from what you saw or something entirely different. Anywho, she was talking about the summer camp she helped create and whatnot. Honestly, she’s exactly the same as when we were kids. She’s incredibly giving, always striving to make a difference and realizing how lucky and fortunate we are here. She’s an incredible woman. It’s so funny to look back and realize that you knew when you were 7 or 8 that this other kid would one day make a difference in the world, LOL! She’s totally inspiring.

All our women are inspiring!!! Go Canada go!!!!! It’s amazing how the beginning of the Olympics had such a cloud over it. From that tragic luge accident to the huge flubs in the opening ceremonies to the awful weather, and now everything seems to have fallen into a flow and the world is truly celebrating. I’m loving it!

Too bad Team Canada is being investigated by the IOC now for chugging beer and smoking cigars on the ice. Someone even tried to drive the zamboni…..

But, still a great game 🙂

And I cried when Rochette received her medal too.

USA and Canada Mens Hockey could very well have another showdown… and that games going to be ten times more amazing (if that’s even possible) than super sunday.

Yay! I’m still uber excited about the win!

Wish I could have been there, but my sister is in Vancouver so I’m living vicariously through her. 🙂

Oh no! People celebrated?! Ah jeez. Much ado about nothing. If I won a gold I probably would have run naked around the arena while drinking champagne if I thought no one was looking 😉 And hells ya I’d try to drive the zamboni! Who wouldn’t?!

What about that dude who had to apologize and go home because of the “risque” photos he took in the middle of the street?! LOL!
