My husband and I are the biggest failures ever… 10 months post-wedding and we haven’t picked photos for our album nor finished the songs for our video.
We REALLY need help with the songs. I’m super picky. And I’d love to actually watch this video on our 1st anniversary.
So far we have “The Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel for the super sappy church section
Then we want Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing” for photo taking/the reception to lighten up the mood.
We need one more song for the end portion of the reception… something appropriate for dancing. I don’t want anything that is super top 40 (although Bruno Mars is on the table…) and for the love of god I don’t want that “Home is wherever I’m with you” song. It makes me cringe.
Anyone want to weigh in? Thanks in advance… I know I’m a pain 🙂

we found 3 contenders but i’m not 100% sold…
cake- love you madly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vj-_XZSnAtw i like it because it is familiar, yet a little different for a wedding video. im worried it drags on for too long, though. kind of the same thing over and over
bruno mars- locked out of heaven (like i mentioned earlier) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXOi7srR_80– has the sound and upbeat feeling i’m going for but is it too popular? especially coming after that ray lamontagne song… which is lovely but has exploded in the wedding world.
emeli sande- next to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nwdjQmc_N8. i generally love this song and its nice and upbeat, but is it weird to have a song all about “him”? (i wouldn’t want a song only about a girl either)

I love Cake! We played that song as we cut the cake lol cheesy I know but we loved it!!
Maybe run the songs by your videographer and see what they suggest.

@September29: I just wanted to say that I’ve now been married for four years, and my Darling Husband and I still don’t have wedding albums, and I have no idea if or when I ever will. Most of our images need to be edited, and it turns out that our photographer doesn’t do that type of work, so I eventually want to hire someone to Photoshop them and to create my albums.
As for our video, it took the videographer nine months to make it, and there was zero opportunity for us to be involved in the decision-making process. We had no say whatsoever regarding any of the music or any of the editing decisions that he made regarding what to include or omit. I think it’s wonderful that you and your Darling Husband have input into your video. I would encourage you to take as much time as you need to ensure that your video is the way that you want it to be.

@LovelyLaura: glad you approve :). we do love cheesy… we walked in to our reception to “i believe in a thing called love”! haha
@Brielle: wow, that really stinks… i’m so sorry! good luck with the photos, i hope you cna find someone to help. how did the video turn out? are you still happy with it? i’m not sure how much of the editing process we’re involved in. the guy who did it is friends with my husband and he doesn’t specialize in weddings, so he cut us a deal. i’m going to get a highlight reel from him (with 3 songs) and im going to request an uncut copy of our ceremony. heres hoping it turned out well!
