It was FOREVER ago!  But I think we went down the Jersey shore (our dating anniversary falls on Memorial Day weekend) and my folks have a place in Cape May.  If my memory serves me we went to the Lobster House for a nice dinner, did the Schooner American for cocktails and appetizers.  (I’m assuming your in Philly and are familiar??).

If your anniversary is coming up sooner (i.e. not in late spring/summer and you can’t do a beach destination) there are so many wonderful things to do in Philadelphia.  We got married on the Moshulu and the restaurant is fantastic if you’ve never been!

But also reflect on the last year… has there been anything you’ve done/anywhere you’ve been that is sentimental, that means something?  You can always revisit those events for anniversaries!

Have fun, Good luck!

We went out for dinner; we didn’t make a huge deal of it.

@MrsWe:  The Moshulu was a fantastic venue!  When the times comes, definitely check it out!  (Also do a google search for Moshulu weddings – pictures on the boat are AMAZING!!).

We went to NYC and ate at Dache, a WILDLY expensive (like $400) restaurant. Thenwe saw Phontom on Broadway!

Love the Philly representation!

For our one year we went to Longwood Gardens and then he made me dinner (we also went to a concert that was near the date for a band we both love).

I agree with JemmaWRX, if there was a particularly meaningful place you went during the year (the place he first asked you out or the place you first said I love you) that would be romantic to revist.

The 1 year anniversary was really mediocre because I was not a great cook back then and cooked a really mediocre dinner. Over the years we’ve done fancy date nights to restaurants or just out for fancy desserts. It’s a great opportunity to make a real date of it if you’re regularly inclined to stay inside and watch Netflix. 😛

We went to Niagara Falls for a couple of nights and went to some wineries, ate dinner at nice restaurants, went to the casino, walked around by the falls, rode the ferris wheel etc.

We didn’t do anything for our 1-year dating anniversary, because we were already married 🙂  We did celebrate the one year anniversary of the day we met at the restaurant where we met, but again, that was a month after we got married so it wasn’t a big deal!

Hasn’t happened yet. Ideally we will go to London or Paris for about 10 days. We’ll see…

We’re such poor  college students, I don’t think we did anything more than an extended dinner  and swap presents. But, for our 5 years, my FH put together a scavenger hunt. It was so romantic, he said he worked on it for months. He had to drive me to certain places and even If I guessed the wrong location, he’d take me anyways. I think a scaavenget hunt would be fUn! Maybe lead him to your favorite restaurant and you’ll be waiting. good luck!
