MattieK:  Haha that’s my biggest issue – I eat my feelings! Here’s hoping no one pisses me off or makes me sad any time soon!

weightwatchers152:  Thank you! I don’t have anything for DH. MC kind of steals that initial excitement away from you. The first time I told him I was pregnant, it was April Fool’s Day and I had to wave the pee stick around like a maniac to get him to believe me, so it was still memorable! πŸ™‚

RunnerBride13:  I don’t think I told you yet, but I’m so sorry this transfer was a bust πŸ™ I hope the next goes smoothly and gives you your BFP!

lizziebeth1:  I’m so glad you mentioned this about beans. I’m using Whole 30 now as guide to make some better food choices, but still eating some whole grain and wanted to add some beans in. I hope your IUI went well! Sorry your numbers weren’t great, but hoping you still get your sticky!

AFM, I’m adding a few things to my arsenal this cycle. I’m just starting my FW and I’ve added Mucinex to help with CM, and added Zinc and Calcium to see if that helps. I’m also planning to cut out alcohol and caffeine completely during the TWW. Here’s hopin’!

Hi Ladies,

Nearing the end of Provera and looking forward to moving forward with injectables next week sometime. I think I am more nervous than I need to be. I’m used to being poked and prodded as I am sure we all are, I just don’t like to see the actual ‘prep’ process of a needle or bloodwork. I never look. Hope it’s a breeze and I am sure the nurse will show us an easy way.

We were in the dollar store last night and I saw a pregnancy test (stick) rather than the one where you transfer the pee with the little tube thingy. DH said, “You test with a cheap one and then verify with a more expensive one”. I laughed. πŸ™‚

Have a great day ladies! πŸ™‚

soontobemrs1011:  you’re a chemist! That explains why you spelled desiccant correctly. My husband and I were both Chem majors in college, and our kids room has a huge decal of the periodic table.

AFM I have my gyno appointment tomorrow. The one where she will probably write “infertility” in my chart and I will cry. I found this article la month, and just thought I would share. I live downtown in an urban area, so c’est la vie http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/26724803/

MattieK:  Thanks! That is what I am leaning towards, testing at about 7dpt for 1-3 days to “test it out” and then not testing again until Feb 29 / March 1st. Also, I think Ovidrel is a HCG trigger, it is just a name brand πŸ™‚ http://www.drugs.com/mtm/ovidrel-injectable.html

Also, I called my insurance as my monitoring appointments are showing up on the insurance EOB as “not covered.” Luckily, it seems there is some kind of glitch as the woman I spoke with said they should be covered minus my co-pay. So she is having them re-submitted. Phew! Otherwise that was going to be like $900 for three monitoring appointments! While I had her on the phone I figured I would confirm what infertility procedures are covered. It turns out IUIs are fully 100% covered and we have an unlimited amount of them! So that was nice, since we don’t have any IVF coverage right now.

HaaaveYouMetTed:  I’m a big feeling-eater too. Sadness or stress basically mean lots and lots of chocolate (or peanut butter…or both!). I’ve been trying to make a rule that before I eat my feelings, I try to work out, and if I STILL need chocolate, then I go for it. Life is too short NOT to eat chocolate, in my humblest opinion.

weightwatchers152:  You could always have your husband do the injections, they aren’t hard, but it IS hard to make yourself do it. It just feels wrong, haha

JLBB-brooklyn:  Well, kiiinda. So HCG as a trigger shot is just that, HCG purified the the urine of pregnant ladies. Ovidrel is recombinant HCG, which means they genetically modify the ovarian cells of Chinese hamsters to produce HCG, then grow it in the lab in tissue culture. So they are both HCG, but slightly different, like ovidrel has no FSH activity, but hcg does. In studies, however, they had the same effectiveness for ovulation induction πŸ™‚

Also, holy IUI coverage! That’s great!

My nurse did a sneaky beta on me this morning and wasn’t going to tell me. It was 200 (16dpo) up from 88 on 14dpo. Still had some spotting and cramping but my progesterone is back over 190 so that is good. Feeling a bit better now. Will have bloods again on Wednesday.

weightwatchers152:  maybe your DH can give you the injections?

AFM, I went in for bloodwork and my baseline ultrasound this morning and the dr found a ~2 cm cyst on one of my ovaries.  I was freaking out all day thinking my cycle was going to get cancelled, but my cycle is a go!  I guess the bloodwork showed that it wasn’t producing hormones.  I did my first two injections tonight: follistim (easy peasy!) and menopur (burned and I almost passed out in my kitchen).  Tomorrow I will do my injections sitting down! πŸ˜‰ My hubs is so squeamish around needles he wasn’t even in the same room as me.  The instructional videos on the injections grossed him out.  Hopefully he can man up for my trigger injection, provided he’s around for that one.

I go back on Sunday to check progress.  This morning I had 10 follicles (5 on each ovary).
