Hi everyone, sorry I have been MIA over the past few days. I have been trying to keep myself off the bee to prevent myself from obsessing while I waited for all of my IVF/embryology results. I will update you after doing personals!

Mrs. Jaguar: How are you feeling? Hopefully you’re recovered now, about the enjoy the holidays, and preparing for your FET in the new year!!

thesaurus_rex:  I am so sorry to hear that your DH isn’t being the support that you need. Have you talked to him about how you feel? I’m hoping he can step up to the plate a bit soon (at least emotionally, if his work prevents him from being there physically all the time).

lovekiss:  Congrats on your great HSG results!! Enjoy celebrating Thanksgiving and your DH’s bday!

lonsk: That’s great that you got a date for your hysteroscopy, it’s always good to feel like you are inching forward in this constant waiting game. And that’s exciting about your Dominican trip – you will come back for your FET nice and relaxed, which I am sure will help!

MrsBananas:  Im glad you got good hystereoscopy results, and FX you got some BDing in πŸ˜‰

Frohike:  That’s frustrating about the CD1 timing. AF always has a way of coming at the most inopportune times. As others have said though, I think doing the testing on CD2 is fine. KUP about the results!

MrsdeeB: Sorry to find you here, but I hope you find the support you need with this friendly group, and that your stay is short πŸ™‚

saraja87:  2 healthy emrbyos!! Yay! So exciting! What are the genders (if you are comfortable saying)? So glad you get 2 shots at healthy babies – hopefully your very first BFP and then a sibling down the road πŸ™‚

AFM, I am officially PUPO!! Last time I posted, we had 12 eggs fertilized. By day 3, all 12 embryos were still going strong. We had been preparing for a freeze-all cycle and a FET in the new year because I was considered high risk of OHSS. However, in a pleasant (for once) turn of events, I ended up doing really well after egg retrieval. I only had very minimal hypserstim and no major signs of OHSS, so my RE gave me the go ahead for a fresh transfer! So unexpected and exciting! So, on Monday (day 5), I went in and transfered 1 perfect little 3AA blast. 6 other embryos also made it to good quality blasts, so we biopsied and sent them out for CCS/PGS testing before freezing them. I am so happy and relieved! At the same time, I am terrified that this stil isn’t going to work. I’m really trying to stay positive and hopeful though! It brings tears to my eyes thinking that this might actually work! Praying that this little one sticks around for another 9 months!!

Frohike:  It was supposed to be to discuss the risks of the hysteroscopy, which I did Oct 2 with the RE that discovered the polyp. However the RE that was actually performing the hysteroscopy insisted she explain the risks prior to doing it, thus putting me off another month, waiting for her appointment. When I finally got in to see her, she says ” I see you’ve already been informed”

PeachBee:  EEEK! So exciting, congrats on being PUPO! When will you be testing?

lonsk:  Wow, that’s a long healing time but probably for the best.  Your lining will be so nice and plush when the time comes.  Hopefully it will fly by and you’ll be sipping drinks in the DR soon enough!

saraja87:  Yay Yay Yay to 2 perfect little embies!  Do you mind me asking the gender of them? +

Frohike:  Thanks doll, I’m super happy that my fibroid is hanging out somewhere inside my wall and won’t impede anything.  So once again all looks good from my stand point.  And I like all your points to be thankful for!  A very nice reminder for all of us, no matter how crappy things seem to get.

And for those who had a hysteroscopy, were you not amazed with how you looked on inside?  Totally not what I was expecting, lol.  I thought it would be a plush red cavity but (maybe it was the lights they used?) but it was smooth and white-ish.  So weird!

PeachBee:  Thanks!  We were able to get a fair bit of BDing in so I’m pretty satisfied haha.  Still keeping FX’d that we’ll be lucky enough for a natural miracle.  How about your news?  Wowee, how amazing!  I’m so happy for you that you were able to do a fresh transfer right away!  Sounds like everything is lining up for you & I’ve got a good feeling about this!  I’ll be saying a prayer that your embie tucks in nicely for a long time πŸ™‚

PeachBee:  FX that your lucky fresh cycle works for you xox That’s a great haul of embryos.

AFM I had my appointment on Tuesday and we are all lined up to start IVF for a May transfer next year (I wanted a little break and have some work commitments at the end of next year that I want to see through. Hence the break). I am going away in January so when we get back we will do CD1 bloods and do another injectables cycle to see how much of the damned stuff my body needs to get going. I’m a very slow responder but when I get going I really get going so we have to be careful of OHSS. I’m switching from Puregon to Gonal F to see if I respond any differently. After that my specialist will write my IVF/ICSI protocol and we will go with a May transfer if it all works out well. We will be going with the same short antagonist cycle that Jag went with for her latest cycle so I’m happy with that, no changes to what we have been doing and no pill!

Anyway I don’t know how much I’ll be around here over the next couple months until we start injecting again. I really do just need a break and I’ll be off for the Christmas holidays in 2.5 weeks time which is nice and won’t be back at work until the end of January. I will keep reading along sometimes though so FX for all of you that are looking for Christmas miracles! xox

MrsdeeB: Welcome. As a fellow MFI bee, I offer my deepest sympathy. It’s quite a blow. How is your husband doing with the diagnosis?

lonsk:  Sorry the appointment was a waste of time. That is super frustrating. It looks like we may be transfer buddies. I think it will probably be March when we attempt a fresh cycle. Hopefully your trip will be a welcome distraction from the endless wait.

saraja87:  Congrats on having 2 super healthy embryos. That is so very exciting to hear. I wonder if they are the 2 super fighters from this last go-round. I’m sure there is no way of knowing, but it doesn’t hurt to daydream a little. πŸ™‚

Frohike:  I love your list of things to be thankful for. Right now I am thankful that I remembered to clear all of the fertility specialist business cards, appointment reminders, lab results, etc. off of the fridge before anyone arrived for Thanksgiving dinner. And I’m thankful that no one accidentally opened that one kitchen drawer that makes me look like a GD drug dealer. So many bottles of supplements and crap. It’s ridiculous.

Novella:  Glad to hear you have a plan set up for the future. I think it’s a really good idea to do an injects cycle before doing IVF. I did that, and I think it helped them know exactly how much meds I was going to need for IVF, since you really don’t want to under or over stimulate. Hopefully the injects cycle will give you your BFP and/or at least give lots of helpful info. Have a great Xmas holidays!

Novella:  A break may do you good. I’m sorry you have to wait, but, at the same time, it sounds like waiting is the right thing for you right now.

AFM, nothing new to report. Thanksgiving was lovely. Mr. LK’s birthday was lovely. I’ve managed to lose enough weight that I now fit into the clothes I wore when Mr. LK and I first started dating. That’s pretty cool. πŸ™‚ Teen LK is lobbying for a laptop for christmas, and we are undecided. We were initially planning to buy him one, but that was before we knew we would be paying for IVF. Now, that big expense for a Christmas gift feels even bigger. On the upside, I could get my laptop back because I would no longer have to share it with him. On the downside, the money. Ugh. Stupid expensive reproduction crap. It’s one of the many ways this stuff creeps into my life and thought process. I try to avoid thinking about it too much, but it still finds ways to weasel back into my brain. :/ Rant over.

Mrs. Jaguar:  it is nice to have a plan. I’m glad I booked an appointment rather than go with the receptionists advice to just book in an IVF date.

View original reply
PeachBee:  Given I had to go to 91IU of Puregon last cycle and she had my IVF cycle written up for 150IU before I did it I’m really glad to be doing another injectibles cycle before that. If it works fantastic if not we have a better idea of how I respond.<br />

lovekiss:  yeah the waiting really sucks. I’m ready to be pregnant yesterday but I think it’s for the best. I’m still only 28 so a couple months should be fine. My thyroid specialist might not agree because he doesn’t like how long I’ve been on medication but I refuse to have surgery or radiation at this stage so he will have to live with it.

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! So hubs had his SA today, and dun da dahhhh! He did not hold out for “3-4 days.”

He made it about 2 days of abstinence, so we went ahead…but c’mon! Seriously? I told him he better still have plenty of good swimmers or he’s in trouble.

So, while we were there I booked my follow up post testing for tomorrow-I guess all my labs are in (though they haven’t told me what they are-ugh!) and they should have hubby’s results back right away.

I am a teeny bit excited and a whole lot terrified, but just need to rip off the band aid.

I hope my bloods come out ok on the womany things. I hope there is not something lurking secretly wrong with me that only now shows up in my blood tests. I hope hubby didnt totally bollux up his SA (seriously!?! It’s a moment he’s trained for for at least 20 years, right?)

I hope we can move forward.

eek. to quote ms. jaguar, this is poo.

Frohike:  Oh you poor bugger! If it helps, we only made it 2 days before our IVF (hubby needed 2-4 days of abstaining for his swimmers before doing his part) and our fertilisation was ok… and that was with male issues. So I reckon 2 days will be ok! xx Good luck!
