Oh and here’s a picture of our Harley boy! He’s a Cane Corso Italian Mastiff. He’s 7 months old and weighs about 80 lbs if not more now. He’s a big ole teddy bear and we love him!

I am not entirely sure I belong here yet – I am on 12 cycles but only been just over 10 months – I have short cycles and one cycle was only 3 weeks long ๐Ÿ™ anyway I have been “stalking” over here the last week or so and when I saw a new thread had started I figured now was a good a time as any to join.

Age (if you care to share): 31 and DH is 33

TTC since: March 2013 – but as I said above already had 12 cycles…

Issues (if any): we haven’t been tested yet. DH is diabetic and until recently it wasn’t completely under control (apparently that can effect production) and we are both overweight but working on it. Apart from 27 day cycle and one super short one thrown in to P*** me off, I’ve charted and done saliva OPk and seem to be ovulating…

Chart?: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/m/home.php/ShellVee (bit all over the place due to random temp fluctuations and air con on etc)

Currently: waiting around waiting for AF to arrive in a few days. CD23/DPO 4 or 6 (CH keep moving) of cycle 12.

Supplements/how are you going about your BFP: prenatals, coq10 and royal jelly. DH is on menevit. TI.

When I get my BFP, I’ll celebrate by: dancing about and then trying to find a cute way to tell DH – I would like to see him puzzled hehe, after all this time I think he’ll be as shocked as I am ๐Ÿ™‚

If it’s not this cycle, we’ll: try again – we know we need to start seeing a Dr but I keep putting it off thinking – it’ll happen this month…

Since TTC after 12+ cycles (or with IF) issues, is a very different experience than a fertile couple trying in the first month, how do you stay connected to your SO? We tried what we’ve elegantly called FFF (f***ing for fun) on the 6+. Even thou I’m charting we try not to think about it and just tried to have fun. We go on dates – even if just for coffee. And we talk and laugh every night – sometimes baby/future related, other times just random shit. We try and not let TTC rule everything – although sometimes it’s my only thought.

Just for fun…What hobbies/activities do you do to give yourself a break from TTC or just for fun?

I go to the gym, play PS3 games (DH got me addicted to a few), read, go to the movies and do photography.

@Yellow.Clover:  Thank you! She is a very good girl… Of course, she’s spoiled, but it’s just so hard to say no to her. In all honesty though, I love that she takes over the bed each night – it just feels right!

@hardtoconcentrate:  Your dog is adorable… So much personality! I hope you do find a dog like Mabel soon! She is so wonderful! I am a bit bias, but she really is a perfect fit for us. I love how she enjoys cuddling, but also has a very playful side.

@MrsMonty11:  Thank you! Your dog looks so sweet! I love the photo of your son and Harley cuddling… PRICELESS!

Well… Today started a new cycle (#14). I’ll be rescheduling my appointment with the RE tomorrow when the office re-opens. Luckily, those who had their appointments canceled because of the weather, have priority when resheduling. While I wish I could have made a miracle this last cycle, I am eager to meet with the RE and finally get some answers.

I don’t have dogs to add but here are my fur babies… Yes he (at front) is a monster (7-8kg) but the perspective here makes the size difference much bigger than it truly is. My lil girl is 3.5-4kg. They are bro and sis from the same litter.

(cross posting from charters thread)

Well, our doctor called…

No tumor.  But now our doctor isn’t sure what the next step should be. I’m relieved and confused all at the same time. I don’t know what to even make of it.. I just feel like we hit a dead end, I think our doctor is out of his comfort zone with this type of fertility issue (he is a urologist, dh has no urology issues it’s a hormone problem, his junk is fully functional).  Should I ask to be referred to an endocrinologist?  Insurance won’t cover a fertility specialist and this IS technically a hormone issue not a fertility issue, infertility is just a side effect.

I don’t know what to do. Undecided

@hardtoconcentrate:  Thanks! Hopefully it will work! Also, I know that you have your surgery scheduled now and I came across some info on Serrapeptase and blood clotting on WebMD. Just an FYI: “Serrapeptase might interfere with blood clotting. There is a concern that it might increase bleeding during and after surgery. Stop using serrapeptase at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.”

@ethorn13:  Thanks so much for sharing that because I didn’t realize I needed to stop it that early. I actually was thinking about that this morning because I haven’t taken it in a week since I ran out while I was traveling over the holidays.  I just reordered yesterday and planned on stopping it a couple days before surgery but it looks like I shouldn’t start retaking it until after the surgery at this point.  Whew. Thanks for the heads up. ๐Ÿ™‚

@wandering_gypsy:  Great news about him not having a tumor!  I’m sorry you feel like you’ve hit a dead end, but at least it was good news.  Sorry to ask when I know you’ve already said it but what is DH’s hormonal issue?  And how do you know about that? Can you go back to the doctor who diagnosed that?  I hope you get some answers soon.

@ShellVee:  Welcome!  Love the picture of the cats and their facial expressions – looks like they’re posing! So cute.  I stayed with my brother for a month this summer while I was working away from where I live, and he has 2 cats, and I fell in love with them while I was there.  They had one of those cat tree things that they loved so this picture totally reminds me of them!

@hardtoconcentrate:  DH has hypogonadism this doctor is the one who diagnosed him based on having high prolactin levels and low testosterone (LH was within normal and hasn’t checked FSH, which I thought would be the next step). We were referred to him (urologist) by my doctor initially because DH’s sperm count is low (~600,000k count, 50% motility, 40% morphology… motility and morphology might have been switched), after an examination, blood tests and scrotal ultrasound we were able to rule out physical abnormalities (he does have one small vericocele on one side, but the doctor didn’t think that was the biggest deal since it was small).

@wandering_gypsy:  Ok, I see.  So, is the condition treatable?  Did the urologist suggest next steps for TTC like IUI or something else that may have a higher success rate for people in your position?
