@Yellow.Clover:  That’s sort of a long story.  lol  Back in November of 2011, I was still with the first OB that I’ve had that I really liked.  On this though she really dropped the ball.  I had an u/s (both abdominal and transvaginal) done to make sure I didn’t have any lining issues etc.  They determined that I had a subseptus uterus, but all my OB told us was that it was a perfectly normal deviation and that all it was, was a dimple or nubbin.  She assured us that it wouldn’t interfere with pregnancy or ttc.

After my 2nd miscarriage, I started seeing an RE through my new insurance.  He wasn’t familiar with the diagnosis of “subseptus uterus”, and wanted me to do an HSG to confirm if there was an issue.  The HSG showed that my uterus looked like a thick V (I actually have pics if you are interested in seeing them.  lol) rather then the triangle that it should look like.  My RE wanted to double check and make sure it was a septum rather then a bicornuate or arcuate uterus (those can look the same from the inside of the uterus, but they have blood flow and can provide nutrients to a growing babe), so he sent me for an MRI.  That was the final confirmation he needed.  He said after the surgery that it was even bigger then he thought and was basically dividing my uterus into two cavities.

It’s been forever since I’ve been over there too.  lol  I really needed a break from ttc especially while I was waiting to try until the surgery and healing was done.  Even with people LTTTC, it was just too hard to keep watching people getting pregnant when I couldn’t even try and wasn’t sure when I would be able to again.  Now that I know when I can try again, It’s much much easier because I’m excited again.  lol

@bunny:  Eee!  Cycle buddies. 🙂  “Don’t think that I’m forgetting about any of you, though! I am still rooting for all my long-time TTC sisters and expect to see you back here when you announce your BFPs, if not sooner. ;)”  This made me “awwww.”  Love it!  I concur.  You guys are my long-time TTC sisters FOREVER.

@lonsk:   @SapphireSun:  I knew I was forgetting someone in the shout-out! Embarassed

@SapphireSun: I hope your hubby’s SA comes back with a gold star rating. Then there’s one less thing for you to worry about. 🙂

@hellorebecca:  Haha I love that you called this an Infertility Party! Lol  Every single one of us is only here ’cause we have to be, so we may as well “PAR-TAYYYY!” Cool Welcome and I hope you’re here for a short stay.

@wifegoodman:  Good luck with the HSG!

@hamikay:  I hope the Vitex works well for you.  The FertilAid and FertiliTea has some Vitex in it, and it didn’t cause any O changes for me except perhaps more exaggerated O symptoms than usual (sore nipples, skin breakouts). I was only on it for about 10 days prior to O, though, so we’ll see for next cycle.  I’m still so proud of how you kept it together after your last cycle and CP.

@Yellow.Clover:  Bottle of wine??  Bring it on!!! Although I only have a drink here or there (once, maybe twice a week) I swear that I used to drink less before we started TTC.  Now I need it for the stress relief!!!! Wink True story.

@mixtapehearts:  Hi and welcome to this lovely thread.  I’m sorry you’re not having such a great day…gosh, don’t I know those!??! I hope your RE can still pull this cycle together for you!

@dodgercpkl:  Hello, nice to “meet” you too!  I recognize you from the old IF threads that I used to stalk but never brought myself to join since we haven’t been actively pursuing treatment and diagnosis as quickly as some.

I’m very sorry for your miscarriages Cry but it sounds like everything is coming together for you to get that sticky BFP.  I hope so…2 1/2 years is a long, looooooong time to be trying.  We’ve been trying for almost 1 1/2 years now and it seems like an eternity to me.  Funny thing is we started trying right when we got married and the time being married has flown by, but we’ve been TTC the same amount of time and it feels like FOREVER.

HSG finished. my tubes were open. le sigh. doc says i have a great uterus and healthy tubes. good news is good news, but smh. i was really hoping that having the hsg would solve all my issues!

my next ultra sound is friday am. reaaallllly hoping my follicles will grow over the next, oh, less than 48 hours. go follies go! if they arent, i really dont know what ill do.

@Yellow.Clover:  HSG wasnt bad. but it was VERY different than i had expected. there were like 5 doctors in the room with me. they all had mega bullet proof vests on for the xray. (i suppose i totally thought it was going to be low key like a normal ultrasound) – youll do great!

our ivf specialist was so tenative and sweet. my dye was clear, but showed up black on the screen. the entire thing took like 10 minutes. the nurse kept saying it was one of the quickest shes seen? the most uncomfortable part was just opening my cervix, but ive had that done a gazillion times for papsmears etc. i surprisingly didnt feel the catheter or the dye, AT ALL. which i was shocked about because after i had my laproscopy, i had some biofeedback therapy with catheters and those killed me. like kicking doctor in the face type pain. maybe thinking that the HSG was going to be awful, helped me think it wasnt so bad in the end. but my tubes were open – so i dont think itll change anything with our success rates 🙁 however DH couldnt go in with me, and i was pretty bummed about that. all is well tho!

Oh ladies, I am in the middle of watching Ricki Lake, and had to tell you all. I know we are all a little too preoccupied with TTC but that is what the show is about. If you have a chance to watch it, please do. I see a little bit of myself in some of the ladies on the show and keep thinking about all of you. It is sad yet uplifting at the same time…

Edit: I wrote this post before the “Donorsexual” came on – must admit I have watched him on another show and he gives me the creeps. I had higher hopes when the show first started, then the donor and “designer babies” segments kind of ruined it for me. Sorry for the initial shout out to watch it, I should have waited until it was over but got over excited to share with you all!

@wifegoodman:  Glad to hear it went well!  Even if the HSG went well, it may have opened up your tubes just a little more, you never know!

Oh and I just wanted to add that I got my initial fertility bloodwork done.  My doctor didn’t know any better and scheduled it for CD21 when I was only 3dpo so I wanted her to re-do the tests, but she said that even at 3dpo my levels were all great.  According to her, they would have been even better at 7dpo, so she doesn’t feel the need to re-do it.  What do you guys think?  I can’t remember all the numbers off the top of my head, but I do know that progesterone was 24 at 3dpo so it sounds awesome.  They typically aim for at least 15 on a medicated cycle and 10 on a non-medicated cycle at 7dpo.

@wifegoodman:  Im glad your tubes and everything else is in top shape !! I think I also had similar hope going into mine. like someone would say ” oh there was a blockage, it’s fixed now. so you’ll get pregnant next time you have sex”

@Yellow.Clover:  there were two ladies in the room, and they both commented on how pretty my ring was. sometimes i get so annoyed LOL but today i welcomed it. it took my mind off the procedure. prior to it starting, i thought i was going to cry.

i dont know why i had so many people. my ivf specialist, a nurse, the radiologist and TWO tech people to “help with the machines” and when the radiologist came in all he did was hit the button on machine. aka the two techs did nothing. except one of them handed me two hospital gowns to slip in to. lol – they were definitely unneccesary. & quite awkward while waiting for the radiologist to come in while laying there on the table. hum de dum. cue ladies commenting on my ring. i think we all felt a tad bit awkward, LOL.

@wifegoodman:  Glad your testing went well, I know for myself sometimes I wish there was something wrong just to have an answer to all the “why” questions and something to start trying to “fix” as crazy as that all sounds. I hope your tubes just needed a nice “cleaning” and your BFP is a result of that clean up!
