@wifegoodman:  congrats on being done with HSG! yay that’s a great hurdle to be done with. and so excited for this medicated cycle for you!

@Yellow.Clover:  oh no. . .did AF come? πŸ™ i’m so so sorry. I was also hoping this was going to be your month!! i totally understand needing to step back. thanks for all the support you have given to the rest of us thus far! it has been really appreciated.

@lonsk:  i love the nonchalant pregnancy announcements from people who weren’t trying. awesome.

@BrianneG: congrats on IUI! hope this is the month.

@LEWife: I am so amazed at your tenacity, CD100+?! amazing. soo glad you’re getting to finally meet with a fertility specialist.

afm. . .(this part cross-posted). . had a quiet weekend. husband was hiking with some guys so I was on my own. just hanging out in the early part of the 2ww. had lunch with a friend who has been trying for what I consider a loong time (almost 3 years) and her attitude is just so awesome, it really helped me put things in perspective by seeing how non-complaining and how not-jealous she is . i mean, don’t get me wrong she wants a baby! but i guess she’s just reached this place of quiet resignation and considering adoption, whereas I am in more of the  still very eager/hopeful, but also very impatient phase.

around Fri of this past week I was just getting almost bitter about the whole process (as you can see from my frustrated posts on the ‘do you believe it will happen when you relax?’ thread, haha). so it was really good to talk to her and get snapped out of my selfish perspective.

if no good news on my POAS day on Nov 6, then I’m scheduled for lap surgery on Nov 15th to check out my tubes and also check for any endometriosis. bought some comfy outfits this weekend to wear post-op and started to get really sad and question myself, maybe I should put off the surgery? it just seems so sad and scary to have to be operated on just to help diagnose issues with what should be such a ‘normal’ process. . .having a baby. so anyway, that was my pity party.

fingers crossed for everyone!

@BrianneG:  Fingers crossed for you to get good news from these IUI’s!  Hope the nausea and swelling goes away soon.  Glad it went well!

@wifegoodman:  Haha!  I would so be like that too!  I hope you get the timing just perfect!  Ugh… $20k!  No way I could afford that if it came to it.  >.<

@lonsk:  oh boy.  Yeah the opposite schedules does put a wrinkle in my approach!!  How’d it go last night?

@hellorebecca:  I’m glad you had a talk that gave you a more positive focus. I’ve found that I go in waves on positivity/negativity. Especially if I’ve had a setback whether real or perceived. When I had to start wtt a couple of months ago, I basically stopped posting on baby forums because I was soooo jealous of all the bfp’s even from people who’ve been through the ringer. Now that I’m about to be able to start ttc again and have a good belief that this might be my turn, I’m MUCH more positive and able to deal gracefully with bfps and scans and stuff.

Don’t let yourself get down about the surgery. I just had a hysteroscopy to remove a septum and I look at it this way: the tools are here and available for a reason. The ability to remove things like endo and septums are there for a reason. Dunno if you believe in God or not (I do) but I see God’s work in making all of this possible!

@Yellow.Clover:  OMG! That’s crazy that you’ll have to travel that far to get it done! I hope you can find a place that’s closer. I’m glad the break did you goo. *hugs*

As for me, things are getting better! Last night DH and I tried again, and this time with success and no fever/pain/issues. So that puts to rest my worries about maybe needing to wait out next cycle for more healing. I should be only a week away from my AF starting, and then active ttc again! YAY!

@lonsk: Poor guy, it’s easy to forget how much pressure they’re feeling as well.

@BrianneG:  Glad things went relatively well!  Fingers crossed πŸ™‚

@hellorebecca:  PIty party away, that’s what we’re here for.  Big hugs to you.  That “relax” post was super annoying for me as well.

Absolutely nothing new for me.  CD47 I think, but I’m putting off provera, because I just want to see if I even CAN get AF by myself.  Nips are a little sore so MAYBE that’s PMS.  Hopefully.  DH did his SA yesterday, waiting on the results.  It’s a super hassle because his medical is handled federally and mine provincially, so linking us together and stuff is a big headache… just a small preview of what it might be like if we actually have to take any further steps.  UGH…

@SapphireSun:  Fingers crossed that AF will arrive on her own.  The insurance issues must be such a pain!  I hope you never have to take further steps.

@Yellow.Clover:  Hopefully it won’t be.  From what I’ve read, it’s rare that it’s painful.  I know that while it wasn’t FUN for me, I walked out with no issues and then had sex later that afternoon.  πŸ˜‰   That’s just soooo crazy that nothing is available close!!  I hated that I had to wait until cd1 before I could call.  >.<  It just sucked.

@Yellow.Clover:  Oh man…. that stinks so much. Insurance can be such a blasted pain. If everyone is booked, can you call back to your insurance itself and make a case for going to Shady Grove maybe? They’d definitely fit you in if your insurance will take the bait. Ugh, I’m mad on your behalf.

I’m doing good. 6 weeks along now and having my first ultrasound this week. One of the very very few perks of IVF is getting to have a lot of early monitoring and confirmation of how everything is going. So there’s that, at least.

@dodgercpkl:  Sigh… not the greatest timing (not the worst either) Too Much Information but I got a CBEFM peak on CD13, we were able to BD 24 hours after getting it.

As far as timing we got CD 9, CD 11 and CD 14

Glad you were able to have pain free sex last night – hope AF arrives soon so you can get back to TTC!

@SapphireSun:  I know I have been guilty about forgetting/ignoring the pressures on the men and kind of making BD a chore (hard not to with our schedules, doesn’t leave much room for spontaneity) Next cycle I’m going to try not to make it such a routine (if possible)

@wifegoodman:  The actual procedure was really easy. Much easier than the HSG or SHG. Less invasive and shorter than any of the monitoring ultrasounds. The injectables weren’t great but they were tolerable. The nausea sucked and my breasts are incredibly swollen, probably from the trigger.

The worst part was the waiting this morning. It feels like my sample is super time-sensitive but apparently it was fine. I was stuck in hideous traffic this morning and it took me an hour to get to the clinic when it was 30 minutes on Sunday morning. Then I went to the wrong office to drop it off (there is no sign to say you’re supposed to take it downstairs). I left and came back an hour later but they didn’t take me back for another hour and a half after that. I was getting more and more frustrated but it worked out in the end. Once the sperm is washed the RE said it could last overnight, even refrigerated. A big change from keeping the cup between my legs while I sat in traffic.

Now the two week wait begins. I’ve got Crinone suppositories to use daily for the next two weeks and they gave me a lab slip to take to the Quest two weeks from today. Today’s doctor said I shouldn’t bother with a blood test unless I get a positive HPT, but he seemed pretty happy with the sperm numbers and my thick cervical mucus.

He also recommended that we BD tonight but I don’t know if DH has it in him. He’s not really virile enough for three tries in two days anymore. πŸ™‚

@dodgercpkl:  Not quite that often. We get one at 6.5 weeks, one at 8 weeks, and then I’m released back to my regular OBGYN and will probably have standard monitoring from that point forward. I will be deemed high risk though. Not because of the IVF but because of my high blood pressure (under control on approved meds) and age. So whatever extra monitoring comes with a high risk pregnancy is most likely headed my way. Nothing beyond that though, I don’t think.

@Mrs. Lox:  yay for the ultrasound! i think youll be able to hear the heartbeat! how AMAZING. happy for you!

@Yellow.Clover:  SO lame that it took forever to find a place! when i called for ours, they said oh we can get you weds at 1:15.. DH said nope it wont work.. i told them no and then they were like oh youll have to try next cycle then!! so we made it work of course because i was NOT waiting another cycle! i made DH go too because i thought itd be painful or that i wouldnt be able to drive, but i psyched myself out because it wasnt much at all. AF cramps were 100x worse. ill be thinking of you on the 6th!!

@lonsk:  BDing is feeling like a chore to me too. and poor DH feels so bad. hes always excited, but im always not. le sigh.

@BrianneG:  im glad it went well for you! i injected my hcg trigger shot last night at 5pm, we BD’d at 730pm and will BD again tomorrow at 5am (36-40 hours after the trigger shot) – i hope our timing is good enough! my friend said her doctor told her that sometimes women make the mistake of having sex too often so they dont get pregnant because theres just too much dead sperm??? ive never heard that. we thought about BDing today as well as tomorrow, but 3 times in 3 days is just too much. i wanna let DH reload today to have a nice fresh batch of swimmers tomorrow morning. even though waking up at 5am to BD doesnt sound lovely to me at all! LOL. its for the baby right?! lets hope!

@Yellow.Clover:  the trigger shot went well! i oddly totally enjoy giving it to myself. maybe its the 9 tattoos i have? but its SUPER easy. i feel nothing, and its so quickly! i was looking today and saw a little red dot on my belly, i was like yay! my little poke! proud moment, haha!
