did not have a female nurse in the room for the baseline ultrasound, but considering my Darling Husband was sitting next to me, i figure thats protection enough.

Had a temp shift this morning, and a positive opk yesterday, so I guess this is 1dpo….enter the dreaded tww. I have come to hate the 2ww, and iv a pretty long lp of 15/16 days, so it drags on forever! I stopped testing early months ago as I cant handle anymore negative tests! In saying that, I regretted that decision the cycle before last as I suspect I may have had a chemical (cycle 2 after lap)

So this is cycle 4 after my lap, and my fertility specialist has advised ivf after 6 cycles. I honestly have lost nearly all hope of it happening naturally anymore, I know theres a chance but im more in the mindset that we will definitely be needing ivf so its like im counting down the months! Unfortunately it will be self funded as there is no fertility coverage here ๐Ÿ˜ข

In the meantime we’ll continue with the supplement regime, dh count increased from 79.2 million total to 95.2 million total, and morph has increaded from 2% to 3% after 3 months so who knows….if they continue to climb maybe we’ll have a shot!! Our FS says its enough for a natural conception, but from research online, its not ideal, but not impossible.

On a positive note, im very excited to see our fixer upper house coming along! Looks like we will be in by summer, its great to have something to occupy my mind other than opks, bbts, ewcm etc!!

MrsG2BIre :  what I wouldn’t give for a 15 day LP!! Though the TWW has to be torture. I’m so sorry you’re in this position and I really, really hope you get your miracle before IVF. ๐Ÿ’–

Out of curiosity, which supplements are your Darling Husband taking? I’ve been pushing pills down my DH’s throat, always on the hunt for more ๐Ÿ˜‰

So I’m on CD2 here with a whopping 8-day LP and 1/2 day (if that) light, watery period this cycle. How on earth is an egg supposed to have a chance here?? I seriously don’t understand how I got pregnant in the first place. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

On the plus side, Darling Husband and I have a consult with an RE next week. Any advice or tips on what I should bring up or ask? I want to make this as productive as possible.

Thanks In Advance ladies! ๐Ÿ’•

mkat37 : Hey! Checking in on how you are doing with your first IVF? How are the meds going? Are you still gearing up for retrieval this week?

sleepymelis :  Thanks bee, and im sorry you are having a too short lp, 8 days is not ideal….hopefully when you meet with your RE he can help you with that.

At my consultations with my Fertility doc I knew what questions to ask as we knew what issues I had already but what I would say is to have all your questions written down as you’ll be a bit overwhelmed and things will go out of your head! I had to send all my blood results in to him prior to our first consultation, along with my medical history which included the removal of a huge ovarian cyst along with most of that ovary, and he also had dh’s SA results, so for us there was plenty to discuss. He also performed my lap&dye so at my second consultation it was to discuss the results of that procedure. Since my last consultation, I have come to the realisation that dh sa results aren’t great and would liked to have discussed this more with him, but at the time he said all was ok there and I took him at his word. Its from my own research that iv found the best vits to try improve dhs count and morph.

The vitamins I have my dh on are high dose vitamin C, fertilisan M (which includes various vits to improve sperm parameters but I think its similar to proxceed) omega 3, Pycnogenol and I have just added ubiquinol to this list!

Here’s hoping for that miracle and we conceive before ivf!

MrsG2BIre :  It’s great to have something to focus on other than TTC. We’re doing a lot of work to our house, it’s hard work though as we’re doing most of it ourselves.

I have a lap next month then if I’m not pregnant after 6 cycles we’ll be put forward for IVF on the NHS so although it’s ‘free’ we’ll have a long wait. Let’s hope we both don’t reach that point but I keep in mind that there are other bees in here who have gone/ are going through IVF so there is support.

My friend just told me she’s pregnant with baby no.2. Happy for her but it’s always mixed feelings. The nice thing for her is that first baby was at 36 and this baby she’s 38 and conceived first time trying with both. She was always told by rude people she was leaving it too late but it’s been easy for her.

littleanchor :  Thanks for checking in!  The meds are going well!  I’m on Day 6 today and so far no side effects.  We are flying out to our clinic tomorrow and I have my first monitoring appointment on Monday morning.  I am so anxious to find out how things are going!  How are things going with your cycle?

sleepymelis :  Good luck at your RE appointment this week!  It’s a lot of information and you will probably have a lot of tests thrown at you over the next few months but I personally also felt a huge sense of relief that someone was finally going to help us!  As for supplements for Darling Husband, our RE has him on Omega 3, Vitamin C, Coenzyme Q10, and zinc.

mkat37 :  Oh wow, is your RE not local? Will you need to stay through transfer or are you freezing? My cycle is going okay so far but I am getting a bit nervous because everything is growing very slowly. My estrogen isn’t really rising, either.  They could just be super slow growing but they had me up some of my meds today and add in ganirelex tonight. Hoping for some good news at my next appointment on Monday! Good luck with your monitoring!

EllyAnne :  I hear ya on the hard work, we’re also doing a lot ourselves, anything we can do without calling the pro’s in we’ll do it, save as much as we can! But ya, defo great to have something else to think about!

Its good you have your lap next month, the great thing about the months following a lap&dye you can be extra fertile! Providing there are no male factor issues, a lot of women conceive after the procedure, whether its clearing endo, or even flushing out the tubes and possibly removing any soft blockages. Obv this isnt always the case, but hopefully for you its all you need ๐Ÿ˜

I know what your saying re mixed feelings about your pal, how very lucky she is which is great, but it does just remind you that you arent yet pregnant.

I got married summer 16, and a few friends did also, they all have little babies now. Attended other friends weddings summer 17, and they’re all pregnant! Delighted for them all but just reminds me we’re not!

hey ladies, how long did it take to get blood work back?  I know the AMH will take longer because the location I went to doesn’t test for it on site, so they had to freeze my blood and send it out.. but the others I think they were going to do on site (testosterone; progesterone; fasting glucose; FSH; estradiol).  When I did my hcg it only took a single business day but I assume hcg is so routine that they can bang that out super fast.

Anywho.. someone tell me how many business days post blood draw is reasonable to start checking their patient portal?
