- Wedding: City, State
We got married at a glass-blowing factory. We were lucky they had the kilns on, because it was *cold*. We did our first look at the waterfront, and it was spitting rain and incredibly windy. I was teasing my husband (!) by telling him he wasn’t allowed to complain because he had, like, three layers on. He was wearing a tailcoat, and we ended up with some very dramatic photos.
We did our first dance to “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller. He had managed to teach me kind of a bastard quickstep, and I managed to hang on until about thirty seconds into the song, at which point I did this sort of strange box step. But I doubt anyone was watching by that point–do people usually watch the entire first dance?
We had around fifty guests, which was what we were hoping for. It was such a lovely night, and it went by so fast…
Oh! Walking-down-the-aisle song was “Across the Universe,” performed by a classical guitarist. My dashing groom chose “Romeo and Juliet” (Dire Straits) for his processional. We used “Vaya Como Me” for our attempt at a mad dash out the door.
The venue has a weird layout (which we knew going into this), so there really wasn’t anywhere to *hide.* I’m pretty sure most of the guests saw me in my dress right away. Fortunately, I don’t care about that!
Anyway, that’s the quick-quick-quick-and-dirty rundown! I just wanted to share this photo because it’s very r/accidentalrenaissance. It’s definitely going in our album. ;P
This last one is my very favorite of the entire day. We were so tired–we just started holding each other/holding each other up and the photographer captured the perfect moment.
